This think spring cache is located at the rest stop in Elk Springs, CO. Although Elk Springs in now just a wide spot in the road it once had a gas station, and a motel, and resturant. The county road that takes off to the north in the middle of this settlement leads to some awesome painted desert and canyon country.

Biked here from Austin, Texas and are headed to Anchorage, Alaska as a part of a nonprofit organization called Texas 4000. We fundraise money for cancer research and support services and then cycle over 4500 miles to Alaska.

We decided to stop for a cache here and check out the views.

We are on our second trip out west this year. We stopped here for a rest and found the cache easily.

Team Honeybunnies' Summer Vacation to Dinosaur National Monument and Rocky Mountain National Park, Day 6: Vernal, UT to Fraser, CO via Fantasy Canyon and US 40. Really a travel day to get from Utah to Rocky Mountain, but we stopped everywhere, caching and taking in the views.

Quick little find before helping an elderly gentleman who had missed his turn back at Dinosaur to go to Colorado National Monument. He had printed out his entire turn-by-turn itinerary, no GPSr. TFTC cocoalminer and utwildflower. Be cool Honeybunny!
