This is an addition to the nice caches along the trail at Hewlett Gulch. This trail is popular among dog walkers.

I found this cache on the way back from finding Denali's puzzle cache which was #5000 for me! Not to far from the trail head there was a big pile of bear poop in the middle of the trail. Luckily we didn't see who left it. Thank You for placing this cache and happy late birthday!

I did a nice Father's Day hike up Hewlett Gulch today. My primary objective was to hopefully get a first to find on Denali41's new cache and I'm very happy that I was successful. After finding several caches in the upper gulch, I headed back toward the trailhead. On my way back I stopped to look for this cache. This one was a quick find. Thanks Pixel Magic for placing it and happy belated birthday Peter!!!

Thanks for the nice cache. We take the dog hiking in Hewlett pretty often, so it is nice to see some new caches in the gulch. Just found this one today, wanted to save the others for later. Found the cache in good condition, took a tb. Nice spring day with the creek getting higher.

Was in the area grabbing another new cache and couldn't resist the chance at one more quick find. Walked up from the trail area, being very pleased by both my last find and not losing my keys during that experience, I figured one more smile couldn't hurt. Found it quickly and took the time to rest a bit and enjoy the views and the day. Dropped off a trackable. Thanks for another great hide in this area Pixel Magic! Always a pleasure to find one of yours. Everything here is in great shape. SL

Last evening my puppies Zaba Doodle and Chimy Swift were pestering me in a fashion that signals "we want and deserve a hike". So I promised them that today we'd hike up Hewlett Gulch and make the off-trail steeper climb to Miss Katie's Cache. That's a great place to view all the hiking traffic passing along the trail below, and to count how many people are not hiking with dogs. They are a rarity in Hewlett Gulch! So off we went and had a pleasant walk up the trail and a nice easy scramble up to Miss Katie. While there, my phone signaled. It was a text message from Denali50, who is in North Carolina visiting her sister for a couple of weeks. I responded and then for the heck of it checked my emails. Wow, a new cache showed up, and I was quite close to it! In fact, I could look across the gulch and discern 2 or 3 places that were logical for it to be hidden. So down my pups and I went, crossed Gordon Creek, and made our way up to the new Pixel Magic cache. An easy find and a blank cache sheet. So I signed it as [FTF} on this bright, Spring Sunday morning.

Now the cache doesn't indicate whose birthday it acknowledges. So happy birthday to the hundreds of thousands of people in the world who are celebrating their 71st today.
