Ernie66 has been hinting that I do this cache for over 6 years now. It was on my list of caches that would provide a healthy dose of exercise, but that needed to be done when there's no snow. The problem is that there are so many hikes in the high country that need to be done in a relatively short season. WingsAndTales had recently done this cache and so we chose to follow her route – at least one direction. So today was the day, but I needed a hiking partner and talked Ernie into checking on his own cache. I know there aren't that many cachers who like these type of hikes anymore, but I was still surprised that only 10 people have done it since April 2008. We started up the Incline to cut off a little mileage and then used the halfway bailout spot to continue up the Barr Trail. As expected from an ernie66 cache, spectacular views of the canyon and the railway. Glad I finally made it up here. Favorite, of course.

I was looking for some exercise today and something that would keep me out of the traffic from graduation at the Academy. This worked out perfectly. I took one route in and another on the way back out and both worked well for about 11 miles total for the day. Summer weather is coming and the snow is melting(there was none getting to this cache). I swapped out the TB. TFTC

Wow I had an amazing day for three whole caches !! The Incline, to Barr trail to attack this one from above; to the Cog RR & onward to the new-ish Sheep Mtn one; and more overlanding from there to Sauce Pomme's mysterious aerie.
Best of all here I saw the nearby summit log with my hero, K2's whole real name signed there!! And me only two behind him here
There is a bit of mouse chews beginning around the lid edge; I tried to give it a good stone sheltering in its hidey-hole. Come on you hikers!
