This geocache is NOT at the above coordinates -- that looks like a barn that The Invisible Man might try hide in when being chased.

You must obtain the coordinates to the location of the container by watching the film in the title and finding the answers to the eight questions below. This is one of eight Classic Monsters geocaches, each of which can be solved and found independent of each other. There is also a final multi-cache that can be found by writing down the puzzle clue that is in each of the eight movie geocaches.

This series is meant to ease the burden of the stay-at-home orders in place to some extent; watch a movie you may not have seen ever before or recently, and work on finding a new geocache as well.

This cache was placed while following all Colorado guidelines and rules during the Coronavirus outbreak. As these conditions change frequently, please ensure that you follow all current guidelines while searching for this series of geocaches.

These are Classic Monster movies, not classic horror movies; when they were made, they may have shocked the audiences but by today's standards, they are not very scary at all.

This Classic Monsters series is named after 8 films, all produced by the same Hollywood film company, from 1931-1945. Seven of the eight are in black and white, also known as "monochrome", with Phantom of the Opera being produced in Technicolor. As such, a few of the Phantom questions are about colors seen in the film. There will also be a final cache, which you can get the coordinates for by keeping track of the puzzle clues that will be in each of the eight movie caches. These movies are not lengthy -- 7 of the 8 range from 70 to 79 minutes long, and Phantom of the Opera is 92 minutes. You DO NOT have to purchase anything to solve the puzzles to learn where the geocaches are -- they are available on several streaming and download services, as well as at many libraries.

So -- let's get started !

BE SURE TO WRITE DOWN THE LETTER CODE IN THE FRONT OF THE LOGBOOK WHICH IS USED IN THE “CLASSIC MONSTERS" FINAL CACHE which is still being worked on for now. Also, there is an Invisible Man (1933) trackable printed out and in the front of the logbook as well for discovery – it’s a campfire trackable.

Welcome to the fourth Classic Monsters cache by the 3 Williams Kidz geo-team. The idea is that you will have to watch the movie to get the answers to the questions below; there are one, maybe two exceptions, for trivia’s sake. Since the entire script is available – and easily “searchable” -- online, I have tried to come up with questions that you cannot answer by searching the Internet.

Here are all the geocaches in the Classic Monsters series:

1. Dracula (1931)

2. Frankenstein (1931)

3. The Mummy (1932)

4. The Invisible Man (1933)

5. The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

6. The Wolf Man (1941)

7. Phantom of the Opera (1943)

8. Creature From the Black Lagoon (1954)

9. Classic Monsters FINAL cache

If you are willing to watch one of Hollywood’s finest classic movies, get your movie source ready, fire up the TV, maybe pop some popcorn, and have a pen and paper ready to answer the below questions, which YES -- ARE IN THE ORDER they are presented in the film. The questions should be EASY to answer as in these difficult times, the idea here is to just ENJOY the movie and then have the opportunity to get out and find a cache while meeting the state guidelines during the Coronavirus outbreak.

The cache is located at North 38 5A.BCD West 105 2E.FGH

FTF congratulations go to hartsdale !!! (three exclamation points for his third FTF in this series)

Some trivia, from www.imdb.com:

In order to achieve the effect that Claude Rains wasn't there when his character took off the bandages, James Whale had Rains dressed completely in black velvet and filmed him in front of a black velvet background.

During the scenes with Una O'Connor, the hysterical pub landlady, James Whale struggled to control his own laughter, as he adored O' Connor's humor.

Boris Karloff and Colin Clive were both originally considered to play the lead. Karloff accepted until a dispute with James Whale broke up both their personal and professional relationship. Clive was tempted, but preferred to take a planned vacation back to England.

The reporter who offers suggestions to the police chief was played by Dwight Frye. He is best known for playing Renfield in "Dracula (1931)." He also played Fritz in "Frankenstein (1931)" and Karl Glutz in "The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)."

Although he has the lead in the film and his character is onscreen for 95% of the film, Claude Rains never actually "appears" onscreen until the very last moment.

Park once and get 2 caches. I pulled off the road and this cache was about a quarter mile one way and mummy the opposite direction. This one was a nice trek. Watch some deer in a field nearby before they bounded off. Halfway through the clues. Storm clouds are building so hopefully I can finish the series today. Tftc!

Started watching the movies and getting the coordinates solved as they published but decided to wait to come up and find the caches when we could do them all at once. Today seemed like a perfect day to do that since the last of them published yesterday. I think this may have been my favorite movie of this series. As with all 3 Williams Kidz caches and series this was fun from start to finish. Enjoyed watching the classic films, had a fun time hiking in the woods for the caches and found the large containers just where they were supposed to be in great shape. Traded TBs Thanks for the awesome day 3 Williams Kidz.

Wow, good thing I had cell reception to get to the cache site! Thanks for this fun puzzle cache series of watching these old monster movies. Also, it was nice to find a large container for a change. Left a trackable: took a trackable.

We have really enjoyed watching the old horror movies. Up to this point we have pretty much watched all that TV has to offer! The answers have been pretty easy to get since they are in order as the movies play. This has a trail that goes pretty close but is covered up with branches! Easy find once we got close. Grabbed the codes for the final and the TB's. Left a few travelers for the next finders. Always nice finding a Large container! Stamped the log and we're off to the next one. [8d] SL TFTC

2nd find of the day. It was hard to find the "Invisible Man". After all, he is invisible unless he puts some clothes on or it rains on him. If only it would rain. Make sure that you have a bottle of water handy. Wished that I carried a empty Walmart bag for trash too! Good idea ya know.
Thanks to the 3 Williams Kidz for another good hide and bringing me out to the Blue Mtn. area one of my favorite places. SL, TN and happy to get another smiley face. TFTC

Boy!

With not much driving going on for weeks the air is very clean and smells like in the mid 60’s when I was running around up here.

I had to park in the shade for the hike, so the ride home was with out any drama with my one and only.

Thanks for another fun puzzle cache and FTF prize!
