A few weeks ago my husband and I drove through Phantom Canyon in search of some Geocaches. We realized there weren't that many so we decided to come back and add a few of our own. Look for others hidden by us along this beautiful drive.

You can start from either side of the tunnel as the canyon makes a loop. You will have to cross a small creek a few times to get to this one. The water is pretty shallow so you could walk through it. There are plenty of rocks to help you get across as well. Be careful the further you get back as there are some cacti. The cache is near where the canyon makes a 'u.'

Cache must have been muggled. We followed the directions to the location and it has been taken.

Second of six finds in Phantom Canyon today with one DNF. This was my second or third try for this cache. I was pretty determined today, but still almost walked away with a DNF. I thought I would save myself from wading through the creek by climbing over the top. That turned out to be not such a great idea. Not only was it exhausting, but I still ended up wading across the creek. My GPS was just about useless here. It went from being 20 feet away to 200 feet. I had looked at the satellite view so I knew where to search. So I put the GPS in my pocket, and using the hint and some geosense I eventually zeroed in the the container. I left all my swag in the truck so I had nothing to add. I removed a shotgun shell which seems like a terrible thing to put in a cache. This container is still in excellent condition. Thanks for a terrific morning adventure!
