AS USUAL, THE CACHE IS NOT AT POSTED COORDINATES
Before you begin to solve this cache you should ask yourself - Do I like or hate chemistry?

I know that there are many people that did not like chemistry during their school years. The boring lessons when you had to learn all useless structures and reactions. If you want to solve this cache, you should not belong to them. Chemistry is very nice science that can show you amazing things, but of course chemistry can be also dangerous. But solving of this puzzle will not be dangerous at all.

So have fun!!

Here are the right coordinates N 39 AB.CDE W 104 FG.HIJ
But first you have to find correct number for each compound and then do simple math or just use the number to get the values for letters A - J

A = COMPOUND 1 - COMPOUND 2

B = COMPOUND 3

C = COMPOUND 4 + COMPOUND 5

D = COMPOUND 6

E = COMPOUND 7 - COMPOUND 6

F = COMPOUND 8

G = COMPOUND 9

H = COMPOUND 10

I = COMPOUND 11 + COMPOUND 12

J = COMPOUND 2 + COMPOUND 12

Something about these compounds: I think that most of you had to hear something about these compounds. Some of them are used almost every day some of them should not be used at all. If you recognise at least one of used compounds, you will find out quickly what is this puzzle about. If not, you can find it out in different way. Just remember what was taught in the lessons of chemistry.
And if you are tired with solving of this puzzle, take a rest and watch interesting video on youtube.com

NOTE: In case of complicated structures the chemical formula of methyl group (CH3) is often omitted and only chemical bond is used (see attached picture). Also only several hydrogen atoms are shown in structures (e.g. hydrogens on oxygen or nitrogen, or hydrogens that express stereochemistry). Almost all hydrogens on carbons are not shown. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO KNOW THESE COMPOUNDS TO SOLVE THIS PUZZLE!!!
I strongly recommend to read this text about molecular (chemical) formula. It should help if you donīt know what to do.
Also, you can try something easy at first to find out what to do. For example, find acetic acid on wikipedia and practise making the molecular formula.

Of course, you can check your coordinates:

[PUZZLE]: You are looking for last digit of unique number. Every compound has its own unique number. Wikipedia can be your friend.

Third DNF of the day. Not a good way to start out the month. :(

My birthday present to myself. This cache, and the resulting question mark that has sat on my geocaching map less than a mile from my house, has vexed me for many years. I remember meeting the cache owner when I first started caching. About once a year I would look at this puzzle, but ultimately move on.

So this was the year. I found a "means of attack" and solved the vast majority of the needed answers. Got a nudge about the direction on a couple of troublesome ones and then solved for the appropriate numbers to plug into the geochecker. HURRAY!!! Made the find today, despite the snow! The best birthday present ever....

But now there's that next puzzle cache just a little bit further away!!!

Thanks for the CHALLENGING puzzle and the hide.

This cache:

It took me a while, but I sobbed this one before I left. There's a compound or two that are slightly (but significantly) inaccurate for what the intended answer is, and that made it a little tougher than it needed to be. I was bummed when I couldn't make the find tonight. The hide itself was really tough. I've always had a problem with hides like this. I spent a good 30 minutes here, but couldn't come up with it. Could the CO maybe verify that it's still there if he/she's in the area? Thanks anyway.

Why I was here:

Due to a missed flight back in April, I had a voucher for a free roundtrip flight. This weekend, my wife was kind enough to watch the kids while I flew out to Denver from Michigan. As always, my plans were wildly ambitious, and I only found maybe a third of what I was hoping to find. But it's all good. Colorado has some great caches (and virtually no spiders, which was a pleasant surprise!). Thanks to all the COs for your time and effort!

Forgot to remove maintenance attribute after cache was replaced, thanks mondou2.

Happy Saint Patty's Day (belated log posting)!!!!

Thanks for working with me and BriGuy to get this DONE and DONE.

Wahoo!
I have been working on this puzzle with Liquidelle for a little while now. Had to share some correspondence with the CO, and triple count my carbons. I started this cache with basically no knowledge on the subject, and now I can somewhat write a chemical formula. Thanks again, gets a favorite point, SL.TFTC
