This cache is located in Deer Creek Canyon Park, southwest of Denver.
This is Dawg's favorite place to hike near Denver. She knows the trails in this park like the back of her paw!

The round-trip hike to this cache is about 5 miles along well marked trails if you take the shortest route. There is approximately 1200 feet to climb to get to this cache. Dawg says it is well worth the climb for several reasons: There are plenty of pretty things to see along the trail and there are awesome views for her humans. Best of all, there are lots of things to sniff! The cache is about 50 feet off the trail and you are looking for a small ammo can.

After you find the cache, be sure to continue along the trail another 500 feet for some scenic views of Metro Denver. There are lots of picnic spots and photo ops in the area.

This cache was the last on our to do list for our 3 weeks roadtrip in the US. Luckily the Sun was shining and the snow was gone, so the container was easy found. Flem was 1,5 hours on the Way up and a little less on the Way down.
Thanks for keeping this old cache alive and greetings from Denmark

Out filling in the Hidden Month challenge with Penhead63. We had to get two in April of 2001 since the one we had already found went and changed its hide date (didn't know that was an option, but I guess it is). Anyway, thank you for keeping this one going and TFTC!

We are filling in our months / year hidden grid and already had one from April 2001 and then HQ ran some sort of correction and changed the date on that one ... so here we are! Hoping this one sticks!! TFTC

Found this cache while enjoying a Sunday morning hike with my husband. I didn't realize how old this particular cache was until I opened it up and saw the original logbook from 2001 - glad to see an oldie still going strong! TFTC!

Found today with my muggle sister as this was the goal for visiting the park. Need some 2001 caches for my Jasmer. Enjoyed the hike (even as the rain fell) to the top, taking in the views along the way. Good coords put us quickly onto the cache. Signed the log, replaced the container as found and made our way back down to the parking lot. Cache and log are doing well, still plenty of room for additional signers. Thanks for keeping this cache going.

I had the opportunity for a geo-run in Jefferson County today, so I chose to do my hike in Deer Creek Canyon Park. I had previously hiked the western portion in March of 2016, so today I was happy to try the terrain in the eastern portion. Despite a late start, I was very happy with my mileage today (12 miles), the overcast weather, had lots of fun picking up caches, and enjoyed the scenery. I decide to give this cache a try because it looked fun, the terrain looked cool, and the cache had a nice D/T rating. I had a rocky start because the GPS was not cooperating. Fortunately, I was able to sort that out. After a short hunt, I was grateful to make a drama free find on this cache. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache and bringing me to Deer Creek Canyon Park, TFTC.
