There are not many caches in the area so I thought I would hide one. I had washed out a used Olay Moisturizer container and added a log and pack it up. When we got to the trailhead I grabbed it out of my bag, tossed it into my pack for our hike. When I found the perfect spot, I took it out of my pack and hid it. We got back to the car and went to grab something out of my bag, there was another moisturizer container. I opened it, and there was a log. I had also packed my make-up bag, in my bag. This meant I had actually hid my moisturizer in the perfect spot and I was holding the geocache. I finally made it back to swap them out. Happy hunting.
Best to do this trail in the fall or early spring to avoid snakes. There is not cover and can be extreme dry and hot in the summer. This cache is about 1.4 miles down the trail. This area also closes in the winter, check the area before heading this way. This is on the Mahogany Loop Trail. No dogs allowed and there is lots of cacti.
