Last day of our Colorado vacation. We made our way from Ft Collins down to Denver, stopping here along the way. Would've preferred a slightly warmer day for wandering around to gather answers. But it was still a fun time. Neat spot that gets a fave from us. TFTC!

Interesting geology lesson, this reminded me of the "walk through time" that is at Florissant Fossil Beds. Thanks for creating this one so I could discover this!
Attached is a great pick of great rock ;)

Today I was out and about caching in the Broomfield area with the always cheerful herndonrd. He wanted to fill a few more of his Jasmer squares and I am always up for finding old caches.

When we arrived at the posted coordinates, we had no trouble figuring out what to do and found all the answers rather quickly. I enjoyed the ancient history lesson and want to thank you for taking the time to set this up and for keeping it around for the rest of us. Answers were sent in by herndonrd on behalf of both of us.

P. S. No animals (including humans or PayMeCache) were harmed in the writing of this log.

Out caching with FeartheFish and like usual driving his butt all over the place. Out getting some Jasmer caches and others. Nice informative walk although GZ is a bit difficult to get to. Sent the answers to the CO for both of us. Give it a fav. TFTC!

The first place I parked had me on the wrong side of the canal, but I was able to find a better place to park once I pulled up a satellite map. Even though it was early, it looked like a gym class was just getting started with some exercises on the bridge. I saw some other dog walkers and adults pass by them, so I figured it was ok for me to do the same. I figured I'd come and get the answers and then head along my way, but this place was so interesting I stayed for quite a while. I think I stopped at every display. At least I remembered to get the answers and send them along to the CO. Thank you for bringing me to such a cool and unique place!

Today, the last day for us in America, Kattherine and I visited a few Virtual on the way to the hotel and found out the answers.

Found this one today with Matze k on our route from Estes Park to Denver.
It was a quicker virtual as I expected.
But a nice location.
Thanks for showing us this place with your virtual.

I ended up on an epic adventure with yellowdogs and jREST. I really wanted to go and find GC19. So, I picked a five day stretch to make my attempt. I roped in a couple of caching friends into the misadventure and we were off with my two geodogs. The five of us made an interesting group. We drove over 3000 miles on the trip going out and back. Since we enjoy the same types of caches it was easy to come up with a list. We target the three main kinds of caches: oldies, virtuals, and earthcaches. We threw in a few others mainly to grab a cache in the 72 counties we headed through. Really got to light up that county map. Ended up with 152 caches in the found pile.

The first night was a little rough. We got a late start and headed into some heavy rain. We already had a hotel reserved in Sioux City, IA; so we knew we had to get there. Found one cache to fill the day in for me. The first day was spent caching our way across northern Nebraska. We had a line of counties that we wanted to grab. Some pretty country once you get further west. It is always nice to see the varied topography of the states we visit. After finding 35 caches, we called it a night in Scotts Bluff.
Day 2 dawned sunny, but cool. We wanted to get past Denver, but our route was longer than anticipated. So we ended up a little short. Got to see some interesting spots though. We hit the high point in Nebraska, cached along a lonely stretch of highway in Colorado, picked up some virtuals in the Denver area, before heading into the mountains for the Cache Across America. We continued exploring the mountains before finding a place to sleep for the night west of Denver.

On the third day, we made it into Denver after some virtuals and then headed south through the mountains to GC 19. We made it. The road was open and the weather perfect. Lots of warnings about the fire danger. We picked up a few other caches and even took a detour into New Mexico so yellowdogs could light up the state. Nice. I love it when a plan comes together.

Day 4 found us in Trinidad. We had a long way to go and a short time to get there. Luckily, at this point the route was pretty straight forward. We headed north roughly to Nebraska. We did take a detour to grab GC31. I already had it, but we were too close not to add it to the list. We ended up caching longer than anticipated due to a lack of sleeping options. Finally found a place in Thedford.

Our last day was short and to the point. We had a line of counties between us and the Iowa border and we wanted to find a cache in each of them. We found one or two caches in each of them before hitting the border at noon. Right on schedule After that, it was just a matter of beating feet home.

Thanks to all the COs that placed or created a cache for us to find on this trip. Without you, we would not have found have the interesting places we ended up. I couldn't think of a better way to spend vacation. We used our Team Barcelona stamp to mark all the physical logs.

Interesting spot. We found an access point nearby and then went in to check things out. We walked through the rock garden and read the different plaques and information. Lots to learn here. Glad that we took the time to check it out.

Boreal Walker @ Ground Zero

Took a bit of a long weekend, well five days anyway and hopped in a car with Boreal Walker and yellowdogs (AKA - Team Barcelona) and headed west aiming for parts unknown. This cache was one of those on the adventure. This was a really interesting area, had to figure out the right approach, but once we got to GZ it was fun to wander around and look at all the "history". Thanks for this one.

I am on a road trip with Boreal Walker and jREST from Minnesota to New Mexico and back meandering our way through as many counties as we could with many target caches in our sights. The weather was decent, although we did have a day that the temperatures reached 100 degrees and we were very thankful for the air conditioning the car provided. We enjoyed our journey and the many laughs along the way along with the great places some of these caches brought us to.
Our answers have been sent. Thanks for the cache! BigSmile
