The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is one of the prime attractions in southwest Colorado. The steam powered trains make daily round trips from Durango to Silverton and back, with a 2-3 hour stopover in Silverton for lunch, shopping and sightseeing.

This is a good place to wait for the train

One of the good places to take photos and video of the train is where it crosses under US Highway 550 about 8 miles north of Durango.
