Unfortunately this cache was stolen, apparently unwittingly by a teen, who attempted to take it on his plane back to Chicago. It was confiscted and subsequently detonated by the FBI--honest, true story. It will be replaced with a new cache on Thursday 6-18-09---sorry. Look for it after that date. This is right off of the Colorado Trail. It is not the type of container you would normally expect to find. It may take some looking around.
This cache is a take only cache. There is no room to leave anything behind. There is a jar inside that has "gold nuggets." Please help yourself to one nugget, or one nugget per child. Be sure to close the lid on the cache snuggly, but not too tight, as it may be hard to open for the next finder. Please place the cache back in the exact same spot and place the lid that opens on top. There are two lids, yet only one will open, when replacing the cache, please make sure the lid that opens is on top and then place it back in it's resting place.

 Hints

When panning for gold, you are near a river. In this case, a bridge is not too far. You do not have to cross the bridge to find the cache. A metal detector might prove helpful.

Taking a drive north from Salida for an afternoon of caching. This one took a little while to spot but I finally got my gold! Cool container and location. Giving this one a favorite.

What a pretty place. The clue and coords. were easy to find, but no cache. I wonder if it might have been washed away in the springs run-off?

Beautiful place for an interesting cache. Love the sparkles! The horses watched me search for this one. Perhaps you can pick them out in the picture. Favorite point.

The cache was close to being covered by water. The creek was running very high. We enjoyed the container and content. Tftc.
