Especially if you need a 4/4.5 for your fizzy challenge. The cache is not at the posted coordinates- but you could park there. Bring your own pen.
I started my day with a juicy orange- man did that taste good. While driving up the mountain I noticed the puffy white clouds- the contrast against the black hills ahead was striking. With the long day ahead, I grabbed a banana to munch on as I drove higher and higher. The yellow of the banana matched the pure yellow hue of my 2004 jeep 4x4. I have to say, the orange I had eaten earlier did not mince well with the savory banana texture- perhaps it was the citric acid. By this time the puffy white clouds were dissipating, leaving just a gritty brown road against the contrast of the shadows and the black foothills ahead. The road soon yeilded to beautiful high mountain pastures. The yellow jeep stood out starkly against the green grass, the simmering green of the pinion pines, and the scrub oak with their budding light green leaves. The crocus were popping up through the snow in patches with their tiny delicate violet and blue leaves- a beautiful and peaceful sight. Today is going to be a great day.

Thanks for the fun puzzle cache and great hide! I couldn't resist this one, but it has been years and years since I had the opportunity to get here! I came up the trail grabbing caches as I went. At the summit I headed south along a "trail"? Found another on the way and bushwhacked bouldered my way to the GZ. I have to admit, when I arrived via the top and the GPS was reading another 16' I was really starting to question myself. That's a long ways down and where in all this could a small be hidden!? There's a million! A scrambled around, up and down and thought I had found where it might have been. GPS was reading 5'. But no.... I persisted on. I had to back track and go around a few spots and ended up in a very precarious place. Recently I fell off a similar cliff so I was a little extra nervous and cautious. From that spot though i peeked around here and there and finally spotted it! Yes!!! Also lucky at this point I have long arms! With cache in hand I sat down on the only rock wedged into the cracks that seemed safe. I stamped and signed the log and took a moment to admire my view. beautiful location! Replaced the cache and looked around.... How the BLEEP did I get here!?!? Ugh! If people have come up to this spot.... I have no idea how... I wasn't about to try and go down.... So... I climbed up, around down and up and out. Back at the top I took a short break to gather up myself and plot a course back. Well... I didn't want to go the way I came... So... Straight down I went! I eventually hit the trail and walked that back out to the car. What a tip! Really glad I was able to find this one after all the work. Thank you for placing this... Makes me wonder what you were thinking! Yikes! Total round trip today of just over 3 miles. 5 for 5 caches! Always a great day when you can get out and hike regardless of caches, but when you find one that's this good and lonely (almost 3 years) it's just icing on the cake! Adding a favorite for this one for many reasons. Thanks!

ONG! I can't believe I just finally found this cache. I had solved easy puzzle several years ago. Hiked in the area for other caches (see note) but not quite here. Decided to make this a priority today & spent about an hour to hike & climb here then over an hour up & down trying to talk myself into going there (I didn't want to have to saw my arm off for escape). Finally convinced myself & found the cache not exactly where I thought it would be but close enough. Now to get back down (evil laugh). Glad there was a pen that worked in the cache because I realized I must have lost mine while climbing around. Didn't have enough guts to take a pic from the cache but close.

Wow. Hasn't been found in almost a year and a half and any sane person wouldn't have tried it on a day like this. Mid twenties with thick freezing fog. See photo- you can just see the frosty tree in the background. I keep threatening to change our handle to something more appropriate- The Cachochists. I can't believe how lucky I got on the find. It was sweet relief after wandering around in the fog, largely failing to avoid post-holing up to our knees. Which wouldn't have been so bad if some sort of caching-induced cognitive impairment hadn't caused us to depart sans gaiters. I thought this would be my next cache after finding the one to the north. I got to the "gulp" spot with still another 60' left on my GPS. Since I had left two worry wort friends back at the saddle and it was close to 4:00 I knew this one would be a no go for me today so back I trekked before they called in the posse. Sure enough I got a phone call from them worried that it was getting dark (the sun had gone behind a cloud). So I guess I need to find a serious cacher to come with me to try this one again.

Felt bad failing on this cache until we got home and noticed it had garnered 16 FAVs...felt even worse then! Reading past logs, it looks like we should have persevered for "one more look." Got some great rock scrambling in, just not in the right place apparently. We'll probably give it another try. A day outdoors is never a loss, and the puzzle was fun. Thanks.
