Nice hike along Trout Creek but, I like a Cache with a view, so yes it is up there on top... Easy hike except the last 420 feet, which is a steep climb up loose rock - the view of the peak and golf course is worth the climb. Congrats to SuperDolph for FTF and a thanks for the caches 1st FAV Point!

Container is a Camo'd thermos ?containing a log and pencil, and a few trade items including a nice military coin for the first to find.

Had a nice trek down the trail and got to where I had to start climbing. Couldn't wait to get to the top. I dropped my water bottle 3/4's of the way up (so if somebody sees one, please pour the water out, squash the bottle and carry it out for me....I do not like to litter). There was no way that I was going down the way I went up. I would suggest, if you are able, don't wait to the very end to climb the left side, if possible. It's really nice at the top. I found an easier way down. Thanks for the adventure and the cache. It is in good shape and well hidden.

TFTC I was out and about with nicehice looking for some nearby caches that we had not found in previous summers. We are enjoying the cooler mountains while the Midwest and The South are having 3 digit record temperatures. The hike to this location is very pleasant along the babbling brook. Getting to the final was a challenging climb for us flatlanders. The view at the top is beautiful. We choose a way back down that ended up at a place we had looked at before the climb and agreed there was no way we where going up there. I am not sure there is a good way up and down. We did not find a good place to start so we just started climbing, but we did find some small trails on the climb which helped in spots.

It was interesting to see the previous finder from last year was a friend I had cached with around the Crags area the week that he found this one. He is from North Texas and I spend the winters in South Texas. It is great to have geocaching get us together in fun places like these mountains.

11:42 AM Having completed the Colorado 64 county challenge on 8/14, my wife and I are winding down our customary 2 week stay in Divide. (I never get tired of mentioning the Colorado 64 challenge, since it it was 10 years in the making.)

Today we hiked along Mule Creek and then came into the Springs for a special D/T cache, challenges and other caches of interest.

I saw the high terrain rating a figured this would be worthwhile. I was not disappointed. Great views.

I signed the log below a very familiar name and "extreme" cacher. Thanks, TheFirstSergeant, for the cache.

I saw this cache had been placed since the last time M & I hiked the beautiful valley from the north ... another hike today fit the bill for some light exercise. I made the climb to the hide while she piled rocks in the creek so we could continue SW down the trail. TF another nice day here ! Smile
