The cache is there, toward the top. The fun part is logging a 9.5 star cache. Start at the Left Hand Canyon OHV access trail system. This cache was hidden in April 2010 on a caching trip to find Unfair View. Please make sure you tell someone where you are going before attempting this cache. And better yet, tell someone, leave them some maps and take a hiking buddy. Ropes aren't necessary but may help you feel more comfortable. Don't be afraid to get a little dirty on this one.
Revised Description:
This cache was originally placed 30 feet up in this tree. Judging from the pictures and description of Denali's search the coords are right on. Problem is the tree may have fallen on the cache. It was placed on the side of the tree that was opposite of the peaks where Unfair View is hidden. You are looking for a very nice black machined bell cache with an engraved geocaching logo. It was attached to a small twig of a branch with a key ring. So at 30 feet off, we can only assume the cache is near the tree. The ratings are still valid due to the hike to the cache and the fact that nature decided to move the cache. There are now no need for ropes or fear of falling, but you may want to beware the wind.

I had no trouble identifying the tree and locating the old ring. I looked beneath the tree and out to 25 meters downwind, but I couldn't locate the container. I'm not sure if I was having the fun Barngineer promised in his log. I would have much preferred to know the container was secured safely rather than not knowing how far away it was launched off the limb, but I guess this way it really is a 4.5 difficulty.

I want to go for this one soon. Anyone interested?

This whole area was extremely black at one time due to the devastating fire that scorched this area. Barngineer and I got together for some back country caching today, and this one was high on the "must find" list. I took one side of the tree while Barngineer took the other side. After a little bit, he came up with the container. It was on the ground with some refuse around it. We placed it back on the tree for the next seeker. This would have been really fun back when the tree was still standing. Thanks coCreation for this nice hide.

Last time I was here, I found the key ring that had originally attached this to the tree. This time, I came back with Icezebra11 and we found the container on the ground, exactly where I should have looked the first time. the container is definitely not black anymore, but the geocaching logo is plainly visible. I put it back on the ring on the tree, but the ring was kinda sprung-out so it may fall back on the ground, making the find that much more fun for whoever comes next. Thanks for placing this. It was fun!
