I had no trouble identifying the tree and locating the old ring. I looked beneath the tree and out to 25 meters downwind, but I couldn't locate the container. I'm not sure if I was having the fun Barngineer promised in his log. I would have much preferred to know the container was secured safely rather than not knowing how far away it was launched off the limb, but I guess this way it really is a 4.5 difficulty.

I want to go for this one soon. Anyone interested?

This whole area was extremely black at one time due to the devastating fire that scorched this area. Barngineer and I got together for some back country caching today, and this one was high on the "must find" list. I took one side of the tree while Barngineer took the other side. After a little bit, he came up with the container. It was on the ground with some refuse around it. We placed it back on the tree for the next seeker. This would have been really fun back when the tree was still standing. Thanks coCreation for this nice hide.

Last time I was here, I found the key ring that had originally attached this to the tree. This time, I came back with Icezebra11 and we found the container on the ground, exactly where I should have looked the first time. the container is definitely not black anymore, but the geocaching logo is plainly visible. I put it back on the ring on the tree, but the ring was kinda sprung-out so it may fall back on the ground, making the find that much more fun for whoever comes next. Thanks for placing this. It was fun!

went back today with L-pad, the geo-dog, after an long hunt in all the wrong places I finaly got it.
the container isn't that "black now after the fire but it is still in "space"
had enough time today to get 2 other near by caches on a great day of hiking. Thanks
