A three stage log-only cache near Flatirons Mall. Some simple math will get you between the stages.
Just like Mondo's The Good, the Bad and the Cache (GCM32W), I found these nearby memorials worthy of note so I decided to place a cache nearby. It is a short walk on cement sidewalks between all three stops but you will need to cross a busy street.

The Joy:

At the coordinates posted above on this page, you will find a plaque dedicated to Frank Varra. It asks you to remember the fun and joy of a treehouse. To find the second waypoint you will need to get an offset for the North and West coordinates posted. To solve the North coordinates count the letters in the first two words of the plaque. Multiply this number by six. Subtract the result from your current North coordinates to get your new ones. To find the new West coordinates, note the date in June the plaque was placed. Add these two numbers. Add this number to your current West coordinates. Go find Stage Two.

The Pain:

At this location you will find two memorials. A grave marker and a plaque in honor of the men who died. To find the North coordinates for the final waypoint and the cache, subtract the number of men entombed from the number recovered and divide this number by 2. Subtract this number from the current North coordinates (those at this location). To get the new West coordinates find the age that Joe was when he was entombed (that is the year he died minus the year he was born). Subtract 9 from this number. Now subtract this number from the current West coordinates.

Go find the cache and sign the log! Bring your own pen.

Joy & Pain? The joy was finding the cache. The pain was getting stung on the right thumb in the process. This is the second time this summer I've gotten stung while caching. I think the first didn't get the full dose in or something because this one gave me a lot more pain and significant swelling over the next 2 hours or so. Hard to write without using your thumb Smile... sorry if my signature isn't legible Smile. TFTC!

Easily figured out the final coordinates, but couldn’t find it. Too many wasps to search where we wanted to look.

Out with GotYour6 today finding caches to bring my daily cache count up to 5. I also need a multi, traditional and micro for my calendar date. Thanks for this one. It is always good to avenge a DNF thanks to my eagle eyed friend who spotted the cache.

Spending the day geocaching with FayColSalTom finding puzzle caches we solved, working on some challenges and finding others as we go.

Some of our logs are signed GY6/FCST to save space.

Thank you mondou2 for creating and maintaining this cache for us to find.

This was a great multi. Surprised it hadn't been found for over two years. Everything was in place and we had fun on this adventure.

Very nice Multi. The wasps are still there. I went at dusk so they were not active. TFTM

nice multi. Didn't take too long to calculate coordinates, since I'm familiar with these memorials as I've run past them many a time. However, did take me three trips to nab the cache itself: first time too dang hot, second time a stalled car and cop nearby, and the third time was the charm. But a local security guy almost caught me in the act. :)

Found while driving through Boulder and Louisville. I took the long way back to I-25 and picked up some fun/ old caches along the way. Thankfully I got to it before the snow hit. Thanks for keeping this old, fun multi going. It was hard to get to but worth the troubles.

Thx again for the fun multi.

Making a sweep of the Broomfield area. I've never found a Mondo Multi. The biggest pain was trying to park close and getting stuck onto 36 north! Had to go to the next exit to turn around. Had fun working out the coords. It's always fun to find out I walked right past the cache to get the clues. Shock Great spot for the cache. Thanks for the hide mondou2. SL Ron
