A really fun cache along an amazing trail!  Hope you enjoy it and don't get too frustrated with me!  Once you find it, there is a perfect little perch to sit and enjoy the day and view!

The name is from an empty beer can that you will find marks the entrance to your journey.  I recommend approaching the GZ from the bottom just off the trail, but how you get there will be determined by how much effort you put in.  The Blue Trail is probably a 3T the Orange Trail is probably a 5T so I averaged it out.  The 5D you ask? Well.... it's a micro (on the large side of micro at least) hidden in a rather large boulder field and cliff!  Best of luck!  Just keep in mind that I love exploring and climbing!  I doubt your phone or GPS will provide you with any degree of accuracy so use it to get to the entrance, maybe keep an idea of how far it projected you 'in".

A group of 3 of us came up here to find a nearby FTF that was a kind tribute to me.  GoMRT and KTrackers were happy to come back up this way.  I have to admit, I've never been along this part of the trail and was pretty wow'd by how pretty it was.  Meadow of Eden as it's labeled on many maps and a sign at the trail entrance to the meadow is a very worthy name!  I was rather surprised at how diverse the area was.  From a stream full of fish to the kitty tracks in the mud along the trail, (Don't forget your laser pointer!) and a few piles of bear scat!  Luckily the trail is well traveled so I doubt you would have any encounters besides deer, squirrels, and birds! We had a wonderful day exploring the area and trail system.  Happy to place this cache both to serve as a great reminder of the day and to finish GoMRT's Triple Fizzy Challenge!  Congrats friend!

Please be careful while poking around the GZ.  While I was entirely comfortable, there are some spots if you have a fear of heights it might get to you.  Remember to always keep 3 points or more and be sure of your footing and hand holds!  I have included a couple pictures in case you need some help with the location.  But because of the 5D I will withhold anything that gives away the cache location.

I found myself up this way again with Offsprings. We entered the rocks, made the climb and signed the log. TFTC.

Our first response to this one as we neared the GZ was "No Way." We approached the area and took a look, and then I spotted a hole Java Chip might get through. She, being a scaredy cat said "No Way," but then she took a closer look and said "Maybe." After her initial approach she had a blast the rest of the way and made the find. I was so intrigued that I had to try it myself and forced my 6'5" body through the passageway and found my way to the cache too. Very creative hide and super fun adventure. TFTC!

First time on this trail for me, so thought I'd do the loop, coming up the Mt Dewey trail and across the Horseshoe and find lots of caches. Thanks for this addition to the many interesting hides along the way. It's always fun to do a little scrambling around and exploring... :-)

Getting logs caught up, now that retreat to a more southerly (& wayy hotter) home provides more useable internet!

I had a lot of fun here .. mainly 'cause it was quick, since I just did exactly what E66 said he did.
No entryway beer can, though. Can't imagine someone worked their way up here & cleaned up a bit ... !!??

Oh and YES YES YESSSS !!! Smile this is the one that provides the fateful nudge to my stats : I 'qualify' for Estes01 's 2/2 challenge on the Heizer Trail !! My average for 4500+ finds has bumped back to a 2 on the diff to mate with 2.1 0n the T !! Way to Go RPieper

I made it through the 1st hole and the large second hole. I was half way up the next climb when I changed my mind. I'm sure I could have made it, but if I would have slipped and got hurt I would have been in a world of hurt. I like to do these types of caches when I am with someone else incase something goes wrong. Perhaps I will make it back some day with backup.

It’s been a long time since I’ve hiked up the Catamount trail. We took the blue side and endured the many switchbacks, but enjoyed the lack of steep, skittery slopes one might find on the yellow side. Once at GZ, I saw the beer can and tiny hobbit hole. Yikes! Flashbacks to Chutes and Ladders, GC1RKMC. I made the squeeze, then the climb, then the find! Fun cache, thanks!

I have to admit that when I came around the corner on the trail and saw the area I thought it was going to be more than I wanted to do. I know there is a photo on the cache page but the scale was a little different than what I expected. Then I looked a little closer and saw the "entrance". I think I exceeded Hobbit size by the age of 10 but it wasn't too bad getting in except for the thorns. After that it was just a game of "Where would Rick go?". Don't get excited if you see an old orange reflector. That's not it. It's a fun one for sure. TFTC
