Where would I be now if my Dad hadn't traded in his '65 Mustang for a '75 Chevy Vega Wagon in 1976?

When I was about 12 years old, my parents decided that a '75 Vega Wagon was a more practical choice than my Dad's '65 Ford Mustang.  Maybe so, but why couldn't they have chosen both??  If my Dad had just parked the 'stang out back for four years until I got my driver's license, I would have gladly handed over all my paper route money for it. I wonder if that car would have taken me down a different path in High School and beyond...  Would that sweet ride have transformed me into the chick-magnet that I always wanted to be?  Would I have traded my Calculus textbook for a Chilton's Shop Manual?  Would I have become a motorhead instead of a dorky engineer?   Would I be sitting right here right now, writing out the following obscure code to lure you to a spot alog nice historic path?  Probably not.

Mrs. Herndonrd had a horse thing up between Longmont and Boulder so I took the opportunity to get some caches up in an area where I don't spend a lot of time. Our oldest, Halloween Baby, used to love Mustangs (the car) before she became a BMW nut; our youngest (Sharp Eyed Shelby) loves Mustangs the horses. After I found a place to park, made the hike over to GZ. A previous finder gave me a hint on where to look and made the find pretty easily. TFTC!

My oldest kid will be attending CU in the fall. We came to campus today because he has an orientation program that he had to attend. After I dropped him off I took advantage of the free time and went looking for this cache. I had no trouble solving the puzzle and hoped that the find would be equally trouble-free.

As I approached ground zero I noticed a student studying. I hoped he wasn't near the cache. Of course my coordinates zeroed out about five feet from where he was sitting. Since I did not want to skip finding this puzzle, I told him what I was doing and started looking. He actually had heard of geocaching and stopped what he was doing to help me look for the container. We both struck out so he went back to his laptop and I expanded my search area. It took a bit until I finally found this one. Very nice placement.

I showed my "assistant" the cache and he thought it was cool. After I signed the log and put everything back in place I headed back to the dorms to have lunch with the boy. Thanks for the fun puzzle, hide, and getting me one cache closer to a thousand puzzle finds (this makes 994).

Saw the title of this and had to try and solve it. I purchased a used 1970 Mustang as a 17-year old and had lots of fun with it. Moved onto newer model cars and eventually parted with it a few years later. Still regret the sale every time I see a classic on the road.

Worked a brute force approach, but led to many ambiguities. Let it sit for a day and then an idea surfaced on the commute home. Tried it out and had success. Got to GZ and looked for 10 minutes down a secret trail. Decided to give up as a muggle approached. Then I paused and looked up. Cache is doing fine. Thanks for replacing the cache and the fun puzzle.

I replaced the container with the same type, but a little bigger. It's right where it was before, but hidden a little bit better. Hopefully this one won't get muggled like the last one. Carry on!
