The cache is not at the listed coordinates!

This cache is called 3! because there are 3 Factorial possible solutions to the location of the cache.  The location of the cache can be determined as follows.

N39 11.??0     W108 58.?00

The ? is 7 8 or 9.  For each solution, every number is used once but only once.
As an example, N39 11.780  W108 58.900 is a valid solution but N39 11.990     W108 58.800 is not.

The cache is fairly easy to find so you should not need to spend a lot of time hunting at each location.

Take the Rabbit Valley exit from I-70 to get to the cache. There is a short drive on a good gravel road to cache area.

Congratulations to Rojo464 for the FTF

Quite the adventure. It took me 3!-2! tries to find it. Looking at map, I thought I made a pretty good guess where it might be. Tried to not get run over by the razrs and mx folks, got to GZ, nada! Ok, off to next closest point, wide open area, no dice. Now I'm getting annoyed. Third locale, very close to OHV trail, but nothing there either. Off to fourth station and I run into a cliff. Good thing I decided to hoof it in. Made it up/down cliff without injury, approaching fourth station and saw it right away. Easy walking back to vehicle. Thanks for the hike and cool cache puzzler.

With the wife tending to business, I decided to load up with Halloween leftovers, a bottle of H2O, the trusty Garmin, a prize to leave, and head out to the final two factorial coordinates. Sure enough, the first one I got to was NOT it, so the journey continued on and of course on a line further from where I had parked. Eureka! No rattling snakes to be seen, just the cache in very fine condition. Took the road grader with the spoiler, left a Polaris 4-wheel ATV, signed the slightly damp log and replaced in what was sure to be the correct location well out of reach of the burning sun. Thanks COBOB for the fun!!!

11/1/17: We checked on four of the six coords before exhausting our resources. We'll be back!

On Day 11 of our epic Yellowstone + road trip adventure. Heading to Arches NP today. This turned out to be more of an adventure than we could have ever hoped for. Turned out innocently enough, an innocuous dirt road off the main highway to the junction of a dirt road which was for 4WD vehicles only. Had the list of potential prize finals in the GPSr and we headed off with a couple liters of water and some rice crackers. The first three stops were uneventful. GZ at juniper trees. Checked the base for a prize under rocks and in the foliage above for hangers but found nothing of interest. Next we descended some rocky ledges to a dry wash down below, crossed it, and ascended some rocky ledges to a ridge top on the other side where Waypoint #4 resided. It was just another juniper tree. Or so we thought. Poked around at its base and found a suspicious flat rock, seemingly out of place. Used the trekking pole to move the rock aside and immediately saw a serpentine creature laying on top of the prize. Was this an artificial toy placed here to enhance the experience? There was not movement and no flicking tongue coming from the mouth. There was something wrong though. The body seemed a little soft to the touch (with the pole), and the tongue had originally not been flicking out of its mouth, but then it did. Whoa!! That's a live snake that looks like a rattler. My wife, of course, wanted nothing to do with this and expressed displeasure at my continued insistence on retrieving the cache. I stated that a lot of effort had been put into this field puzzle and that we were unlikely to come across this spot anytime soon so would figure out a way to make the grab. At this point he began to sound the alarm with his rattle but still moved about only sluggishly. A bulge in his belly indicated that he had just eaten a mouse or similar sized creature and was digesting his meal. Moved the prize with the pole to a retrievable spot while trying to avoid prompting Mr. Rattler into a strike. Success!! Signed the log, checked out the trinkets, and then returned the container to a different spot still next to the juniper's base but not in Mr. Rattler's chosen spot. Wink

Thanks for the puzzle adventure that will not be forgotten.

An excellent example of why I don't play the lottery or scratch tickets.   Got it at the last of my series, after all it was April FOOLS day - ha-ha.   A great challenge and good exercise.  My hat off to coloradobob for laying out this challenge, excellent and definitely deserves a favorite point from me.

3 years since last logged!  Container in good shape but a bit wet inside.  Nice day so I took the time to rest up before finishing my nearly 2.5 mile hike.......  and let things dry out some.
TNLN, except for my pen that was missing when I got back to the truck.
