This cache is hidden at the Kit Carson town park.
Kit Carson was a rather famous person in the western United States. This town is just one of the many places named after him.

If you visit between Memorial Day and Labor Day, visit the historic train depot that used to reside along the Union Pacific tracks a few blocks south. Admission is free and they have lots of history on display inside.

#1207 Found while on my cross country road trip that started on July 23rd near Albany, NY. quick find on my second cache ever in Colorado. I also visited the small museum and had a nice talk with the lady that was there.

My code is I don't do tanks, locomotives or cabooses.

But the hint mitigated my trepidation.

Was soon signing the log.

Third find of Day 4 of our 4-day, 5-state assault in the SouthWest picking off new counties and driving through fly-over country up close and personal.

Weather is typical for summer, hotting up in the afternoon with big time winds after a pleasant morning.

Spent most of the day driving the back roads of Kansas, and now Colorado!. Wonderful state!
