Blow me down its a bird house on a 4 x 4.

This is a gadget cache. Please do not tear Popeye's birdhouse apart trying to get to the log.

Birds will probably inhabit this cache, but don't be afraid to go for it.  We have the property owners permission to place ths cache.  The hint is a spoiler, so if you want more of a challange, don't read it.  And yes -- please put me eye back where ye found it.
