Oh, a storm is threat'ning
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away

It's better to listen to the Rolling Stones than to become one so enjoy the view but don't go too far out. You will know what I mean when you get there.

It's not much of a shelter anymore but the views are tremendous. I don't recommend being up here during a storm either.

Click on the links for the "Looking West" and "Looking North" photos to see what awaits you. I have to thank estes01 and ernie66 who discovered this spot but decided not to use it. They both have caches close by that you shouldn't miss if you come up here. I would have had a hard time finding it without estes01 to guide me.

There are at least three trails that will get you to the area and each trail has other caches along the way. If you use two cars you could hike in by one route and out another. I'll give a brief description of each and you will find the details in the additional waypoints. The numbers on the parking points are the same as the trail options below. The trail reference points are numbered from south to north. If you start at the Capt Jacks trail head you will use them all. I will note where the other trails meet that route. I've also included the trail head for the Sesame Canyon trail that starts on High Dr.

1. Park at the caretaker's house at the intersection of Gold Camp Rd and High Dr - Hike about a half mile up High Dr and take a trail SE into Sesame canyon.

2. Park in a pull out on Gold Camp Rd about a half mile above the intersection with High Dr - Hike the trail that goes to Zero Watts, GC1WFJ4, and continue up the hill to the ridge.

3. Go up Gold Camp Rd above where is turns into a dirt road and park in the large trail head just below the first tunnel - Hike trail 665 which is the lower end of the Captain Jacks Trail.

I have a GPS track from parking option 3 to the cache. Contact me if you would like a copy.

Congrats to Rich_Life for the FTF

Well the namesake 'object' is scarcely more than a stack of firewood... but the cache is in great shape- cozy and waiting just as described. I'll move the TB that's here- I got a whole handful of these earlier this year: Born in Lubbock, about 8 of 'em had been dumped on Galveston Island, and I thought at first this was one I'd brought up from there!

Walking the ridge line and grabbing geocaches along the way. The shelter isn't the same as it was when this was placed, but there are remnants. I tucked this one back up under the nurse log and tree that is growing from the nurse log. The tree provides natural cover so you do need to hunt a touch. Swapped trackables too. Tftc

Quick find. Signed log and exchanged trackables. Thanks for the cache.

Didn't see how to add this trackable on my phone app earlier, but she's in there.

I was in the area today and tried to check on the cache. It is buried under a huge snow drift. This is definitely not available in winter.

I got a GPS track from parking option 3 to the cache. Contact me if you would like a copy.
