Thanks for the awesome puzzle cache! I've had this one on my solved list for a long long time. Today, with some encouragement from my amazing and lovely wife I decided for a hike after work today. I've been couped up for far too long.... With a few messages back and forth of where I'll be and ETA for arrival home I set out. I made the first find along the way and climbed up from there through some brutal scrub oak to the second cache! Then with only .24 mile to this one and the terrain much easier I figured I'd go for it. It had started to snow at the previous cache so I needed to make this one "fast". As I approached the GZ I suddenly realized where the "razor" part came into play. Well shucks.... Looks like I'm climbing some rocks! My favorite! I was a little reserved though as it really started to snow and the wind kicked up. Knowing I'd have to come back down I proceeded with caution. I made the find quickly. Writing a fun little log. Akin to a final testimony from the Oregon trail. At this point it really was near white out and I couldn't see anything down or up from where I was...
Me without a coat.... without water... getting pelted with snow and rain, who knows what the temp was, now had to climb all the way down off the mountain. Did I mention somehow thunder and lightning kicked in!? Yikes! Thank goodness for scree! I love "skiing" down the stuff and made an incredible time back to the trail. Soaked... Frozen... Bloodied I sat in the car on cloud 9! God I love Colorado and beating a mountain and the elements! There's no rush like it! I had to wait about 15 minutes for the windows and my glasses to defog. Took the time to message the wife and let her know I was alive and well. Even sang "Safe and Sound" to her! Ha ha ha!! With that I drove home.
What an afternoon! Thank you for the cache and helping make it happen!

Found this one while hiking with THeSKuLL. While at the GZ, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call from my son who is in basic training. TFTC

I've been wanting to hit the trails again. I've had this one solved for a long time and figured it was about time to go for it. I took a break at this cache to catch my breathe and cool down with a cool beverage before heading further up the ridgeline for more caches... Sadly, I didn't find any others before I had to head back down. TFTC!

Hi - I've had Occam's in my 'solved puzzles' notebook for years ... I can't remember what led me to the sharp edge & a solution; but it was before I knew the area well enough to realize the way here wasn't up from the Academy, as I used to suppose. In fact, I wondered about the mention of this one in the logs of some of the traditionals I found today, but still didn't think to bring those notebook coord's.
I arbitrarily chose a route from "Rest Stop" to "Maritime History Series" ... when it came up dead end at the top of a cliff I about-faced Et Voila !!! Occam's !!!!

I've eyeballed this cache for a couple of years, so I was happy to finally have the opportunity to come after it today. After a failed attempt to access the spur, I was pleased to make it here with no drama. Other than finally getting around to going up there, I had three concerns in attempting this cache.
My first concern was solving the puzzle. Although I have solved a number of different types, I don't consider myself a puzzle master. Given that, I called a friend who works down at the Eastern Range and Kennedy Space Center. When I showed him the problem at hand, he got frustrated and went to work on something easier...his calculations for Mars orbits. He did help me by feeding equations into their computers, but I came up empty. Realizing I was approaching this problem the wrong way, I decided to think more like the CO and use tools he may be familiar with / may have used to build the puzzle. Soon I had the solution after performing calculations using my abacus and taking off my shoes to count with my toes. Not wanting to take any chances with a wrong solution and perform an unnecessary hike, I took a quick flight to Rome, Italy to sacrifice a bull at a old Roman temple.
My second concern was finding a good route to the cache. I've now taken a couple trips to the Blodgett area and never noted a good way to approach. While hiking up the Blodgett trail, I didn't see a easy way up via the cache waypoints. During my last hike here on 4.20.2017, I wanted to come down on the cache after gaining the ridgeline to the West. Unfortunately, rapidly decreasing visibility and a hailstorm to the face did not allow me to find a way to come down on this spur. I had clear skies and good visibility today, so I found a good way down after coming from the nearby GC1KN1G Scout's Secret Stash.
My last concern was actually finding the cache. I noted in the cache description some lamentation and caveats about "inaccuracies in geo-location." If the CO is trying to prime cachers about "inaccuracies in geo-location," and the CO used to crew a weapon system that carpet bombed entire grid squares; then I figured this would be a tough search. Fortunately I was able to make the find with little drama. There are a number of log entries from muggles finding the cache. Fortunately, the container and contents and still in great shape. I was surprised how many people are hiking up this route, especially considering how bad the slope and scree are after GC16TKY Jacob's Ladder. I did enjoy the nice GZ, plenty of room to stretch out in the shade and enjoy a sip of water.
To keep the tradition going that GoMRT started, I posted a picture of the container with my foot clearly visible. Thanks to the CO for the fun puzzle, nice hike, and fun cache; TFTC.
