Good hike or fun bike ride. Depends on how you approach it. There is trail all the way to the cache with many possible detours along the way. There are only two paths, which are, of course, the least direct routes, to this cache. Bushwacking is not necessary, unless the trail isn't steep enough for your liking.
Your basic green ammo can, only the half size variety. Can is small but not full. Log book and some goodies to trade. Thanks all for helping to re-stock this cache !!

I think this one may be gone. I found what looked like rocks and sticks to cover it but no cache. Still a good hike up to the area and a great view.

This was the goal for my hike this morning. Started just before sunrise and arrived at GZ before the clouds came in. Exchanged a TB. TFTC

For several weeks icezebra11 and I have talked about getting out together for a day of cache-finding. Today it happened; we drove down from northern Colorado and had a great time hunting down caches in the hills above Manitou Springs! We started the day on the Red Mountain trail and ended with a long hike on the Section 16 trail system. We found some great caches, took in a brief afternoon rain spatter and hail flurry, and had a fun, memorable day together. Each of the caches was hidden in a marvelous location, and some required a bit of dedicated work to reach them. All-in-all, a super day of geocaching. Thanks to each of the cache owners for hiding and maintaining the caches we found!

A great location for a geocache! What a marvelous view in most directions. We enjoyed our long hike up to the vicinity, and the easy bushwhack to the actual coordinates. I dropped a trackable in the cache container. Thanks for a great cache, Gator1!

A couple weeks ago Denali41 and I made plans to travel south today to the Pike's Peak/Colorado Springs area to go after a bunch of caches, starting at the top of the peak and working our way back down the mountain toward CS. Last night I texted my son who lives in the Springs that we'd be there today and asked if he wanted to hike with us in the Devil's Playground area. He said "good luck" because the Hill Climb was happening today. So we had to alter our plan to eliminate all the caches above the toll booth. We still had a full day of caching, as we fully expected we wouldn't be able to get to all the caches on the target list, even without the caches on PP.

After making a nice hike to Redstone Castle we headed for Sec. 16 Open Space. We had quite a few caches targeted both high and low and we decided to go high first, hoping to get as far as Third Stone from the Sun. The weather ended up moving in so we only made it as far as One Clover Over before deciding to turn around. We detoured off the main trail to stop for this cache. St Patty has a great view from this overlook! Thanks Gator1!!!

Yay! Awesome spot for a break. I left my friend on the main trail so I couldn’t stay to do that though, lol. TFTC :-)

Made my way here and was amazed at the view presented when I found it late this afternoon. After the sun made way behind the hill, it got chilly, but as soon as you crested the hill to the cache and the view, the sun was there to welcome you. You can see these rock formations from many places in town and they are calling your name to cache them!! Today was a great day to do just that. The cache is secure and ready for the winter months. Took the John Wayne someone left in there. Never know when that will come in handy someday. Many thanks for the workout!!

We met up with Back Country Horsemen this morning and the four of us began a caching hike that ended up taking almost 6.5 hours and covered at least 5 miles or more though Section 16. We ended up finding a total of 10 caches (11 for them) and had a great, but exhausting day.

This is one of the caches that we found along the way. We found the lid detached from the ammo can, but that was easily fixed. There was also some inappropriate swag in this cache: an empty inhaler, some candy corn, and a 9mm bullet. We removed these items to keep the cache safe from both wildlife and finders. Everything is now good to go with this container and log.

This is day 1304 of our current daily caching streak. Thanks for helping us to extend it by another day.

TFTC!

Since we were at the top finding the RTP cache, we took the steep way down to this cache & finally pick up the real trail. We realized we had really enjoyed the quiet time off trail, because it was a super highway on the trail.
