An easy short hike and a cache that the whole family can enjoy.
A trail with the name of Zorro needs a cache, no doubt about it. This cache is approximately 0.35 miles from parking on Rooney road to the east. From the cache location you can see the Dinosaur Center and Castle Rock beyond. The trail is well graded packed dirt with a difficulty that will allow almost any able bodied member of the family or friends to participate, from the young to the old.

For those of you that are a little more adventurous, this trail will lead up to Dinosaur Ridge with great views and a number of caches await you.

As with any cache in the foothills, be aware that this is snake country. Never put your hands where you cannot see. I have had more than my fair share of run-ins with nasty pit vipers, so I know what I am talking about.

Finally got out to explore Dinosaur Ridge today! What a gorgeous day, too! Thanks for placing this cache - I fell for the decoy at first! Zorro is a special name for me...it was the name of my geo-pup who is no longer with us!

Nice hide, thanks for the snake caution. Greetings from WI, land of the cheese, no snakes. Fortunately all we saw were hardworking mountain bikers! Tftc

I decided to celebrate my birthday today by taking the day off work and having a variety of geocaching experiences. I started with urban hides and ended with some hiking in the Dinosaur Ridge area. Some solo caching and some with my family. All in all it was a great day and was filled with wonderful memories.

I almost made this much more difficult than it needed to be. But I was pleasantly surprised when I spotted the container. The reference to vipers had me thinking something else about the style of hide. All is nice and dry here.

Thanks for the hide Grand High Pobah. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.
