This is a tribute cache to all past, present and future school bus drivers, particularly rural routes.  One half of AbvAvg team rode the school bus from grades 1 through 12 and this cache is placed along that route.

One of my favorite memories is when Mr. Lightsey, also a teacher, had to carry me as a first grader from the bus to my front door because the snow was so deep.  Driving the unpaved roads during the winter certainly required careful driving skills.  Or the time I got to the front door and realized I was supposed to get off at my grandmother’s house.  Frantically running back to bus, he saw me running, stopped and picked me up without any embarrassing comment!

Driving a school bus is not an easy job.  Drivers have to contend with wildly energetic kids constantly talking and some times fighting, all the while safely driving the bus.  School bus drivers are unsung heroes.
