Welcome to the Buttermilk Ski Mountain.  Are you ready for a puzzle?

This cache is not at the posted coordinates.  It is located instead at N 39º 12.UVW, W 106º 51.XYZ

To find this cache, go to the posted coordinates and find out how many chairs there are on the Summit Express lift (this is much easier in the winter when the lift is running).  # = ABC.  Y=A and U=B

Then use that number as coordinates (row, column) on the below table to find the partial name of a ski run on Buttermilk.

AB AC BA BC CA CB

Find this slope on the Buttermilk ski map and what color run it is.  That color is also hidden somewhere in the table either horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.  Once you find it,  the coordinates (row, column) for the first letter = (V, W) and third letter = (X, Z). The final cache is only a short distnce away.

Great puzzle. Last night I decided to have a wack at the puzzle. I didn't know how many chairs there were, but I did know how many were on a similar lift at highlands so I took the total distance of the highlands lift and divided by how many chairs. this gave me the spacing between chairs. So I divided the total length of the buttermilk lift by the spacing factor. I ended up being off by one lift but I figured I might be off so I did the puzzle with two different possibilities. Sure enough it worked and the rest wasn't too hard!

The lifts weren't moving, and internet research was no help... But with a trail map in hand and some critical thinking, I was able to figure out the puzzle.

Made my way to the final, and made the grab. Great container btw! TFTC!

The chairlift is not parked in a great place this summer, #82 at the bottom. With some effort we got the right number and solved the puzzle. Recognized the cache container from another recent find :-)

It's been over a year since this cache has been found! I managed to solve this one from home, but it took longer than expected. Nice container. Found on a rainy day. Log was a bit wet but I think "sleuthers" is almost legible. Cheers.

BigSmileFound it, but I'm a bit confused. I see that VirginiaS logged a find online, but didn't sign the log sheet. I went ahead and signed it in the blank (FTF) spot. Just wondering if she forget to sign it or if her find was actually a BETA find???

Anyhow, another fun and challenging puzzle and a great cache. Awesome container!!!! Thanks again for another great cache!!!!BigSmileBigSmileBigSmile
