This would be a difficult level 3 as there is special equipment required to get to the cache site (skis or snowboard).

Well...during the ski season you will need to take the American Eagle ski lift, during the summer it would be a fair climb up the mountain.

The cache is located to the left side of the run that is to the left of the American Flyer sign (go under the lift, five big polls down the hill) . You can get to the sign by going up the American Flyer lift at Cooper Mt Ski Resort. You will see a clump of three pine trees that sets next to the ski run and there is a trail that leads to the back side of the clump of trees. The cache is hanging in the bottom of the tree about 4-7 feet from the gound (depends on the amount of snow). I took three GPS readings and they all came out the same, so this should bring you close to the cache site.

The cache contains some trinkets, a log book, cassett, pez/pez dispenser, and other special items.

This Cache has a special meaning as this ski trip was the first time that I was able to spend some quality time with some very special people - Eric, Greg, David and I laughed, talked, and came to know each other in a wonderful way...in a way that is only possible...because of a wonderful and loving God.

Enjoy the view and say hi to God.

Jay

Spring skiing and finding a geo. Sweet!!

I was skiing for the day at Copper - haven't skied here since I was in high school. I really enjoyed this mountain and wanted to grab a cache on the mountain. I missed the trail the first time down and then got much closer the second time. I was watching the compass pretty closely and all of the sudden I was 120 ft away - back-up the hill! This is kind of a worst case scenario - hiking back up the mountain with skis in deep snow is kind of nightmare! As I got within 60ft I spotted the cache - but, I was getting really tired. I decided to man up and sprinted as much as possible before I had a heart attack! I was glad to see a pen because I had left mine in the car.

Signed the log and headed back down for some more skiing before heading home.

Out of the 5 caches I found today, (ironically) this one was the hardest to find. The powder was deep but made the find and signed the log. Thanks for the cache!

Super fun! Found with our 5yo and 7yo in the snow, then skiied down.

Looks like the original container has been restored after eight years and with it a missing travel bug! Restoring TB to the cache. Onwards.

Took two tries to get this one since on the first trip down we went too far. The second time we started much higher and found it. GPS was reading about 70' off, but it was an easy find. tftc

I left Mr YW with my snowboard while I had a look for this one. A brilliant hint meant it was just a matter of time before I spotted this one. It took longer to defrost the container than it did to find it TFTC Smile

so, can this one be accessed if I am not skiing? Also, it is rated as a 1/1 which indicates it is wheelchair friendly. Can someone please provide some information on accessibility? Thanks
