Lathrop State Park is pleased to authorize the first Cliff geocache series caches honoring our friend Cliff. Cliff series are placed in, nearby, or within view of cliffs in Colorado. Great hike! Please follow the Hogback Trail - no bushwhacking through the ancient flora.
Please be aware that there are rattlesnakes in the park. Use a stick to search holes.

This cache series is a labor of love. Our friend Cliff left us in November 2011. Mrs M bought these Camel cans at his estate sale with the idea to put them to use to put them to use as geocache containers. Since this is the first Cliff series cache, a little more about Cliff. He was a good neighbor who always had time to lend a helping hand, as did his friends. He was nothing if not entertaining most of the time. An avid Bronco fan, Cliff moved on on the day our team came back from 15 points down with 5 minutes left to beat the Dolphins. I can't help but think that Cliff put in a good word for our team.

Park officials recommend that you do not use the geocache description Driving Directions printed below the latitude and longitude coordinates. Using the Driving Directions has you parking and walking on private land outside the Lathrop State Park boundary fence. You may be issued a citation and/or have your vehicle towed. The best place to park for this cache is at the Hogback Trailhead because it is on the Hogback Trail.

Remember that this is a game and you're supposed to have fun.

Congratulations to Sasquatchandwife, Jadegut, and Little V for being co-FTF's!
