This cache is located on Dry Mesa west of Delta. There are two ways one can get there. One being out of Delta take 600 road (5th Street) or you can take Escalante Canyon. If you take Escalante Canyon the water may be too high to cross in early spring. Either way you go you will need a high clearance vehicle, and at times a 4 W/D does come in handy.

This is a ammo box with the following items: Yellow baseball cap, Colorado key chain, Hot hands hand warmer, monkey pen, fishing lure, watch and two carnier clips and of course log book with pen and pencil. Once you get close to the cache you will see where you can pull off and park. Park at N 38 40.441 W 108 17.210. There is a fence that you will need to go through-but not to worry, this is not private land! From where you will park it is appropriately a .33 mile hike to the cache. You wont be disappointed for the view is awesome. (what a place to have your lunch at). Hope all will enjoy---Yankeeboy4

10 Logs: Found it 10

Yep, it's a great view. I just hope the truck makes it back out of here. Original swag has been picked clean. I came in from the Escalante side and I highly recommend a Jeep, Razr, or 4-wheeler. My truck made it up the switchbacks but not before rail sliding on my under carriage, you definitely want a high clearance vehicle, and that does not mean a standard road warrior or long bed. Left a Dex 4 TB chip for the next brave soul along with a Texans keychain. Thanks for the hide.

Out caching with Team kekj in the rain and mud. TFTC SL

7-17-15 (not the same date as the log) We are some 27 caches behind in logging – have not been completely up to date since mid May at which time the Ms. took off for our “legal residence” in AZ, returned for 2 wks, and again in AZ for most of June. I did do some caching without her, mostly bushwhacking type stuff that she detests but am nearing completion of a 14 month project in Delta and putting in long hours. In addition to the Ms., made several other trips to GJT during that same time period picking up Architect, designer, etc. – usually picking up a cache or 2 on the way into town, but not logging it. Have only logged the few FTF and Event caches in the meantime – now catching up. Spent HOURS going back through GPS “Track logs” making sure we got all the caches and on the right dates. With these 27 logs we will have surpassed the 1000 mark by 3 caches.

One of the “unlogged” caches was GCRTA9 – Hidden in the Hunting Ground, a mapping puzzler multi by McMurdo1. We found the first three stages as a team but ran out of daylight, mapping resources, & smarts - and did not find the final stage that day. I literally woke up in the middle of the night with the solution and after taking the Ms. to GJT the following day went out and made the find on the way back home to Delta. I signed the log and logged a “Note” but decided to wait until the Ms. came back and could sign the log also before LOGGING it as our 1000th find. It is definitely in our top 5 list of favorite caches!

This is one of those other 27 unlogged caches. Sorry for the late log but want to thank each and everyone of you for having set the cache for our enjoyment. We have LONG had this cache on our “To Do” list. During the 2 wks the Ms. was home at end of May we went out with a pair of 4x4s and did the Escalante Rim Rd. and then picked up this cache as well as Supersaurus. It was a muddy mess! Took us each 2 hrs to wash down the vehicles at end of the day. We were sorely distressed to find that after not being found for 4 yrs! The Xteam beat us to it by a matter of days! GO FIGURE! We count it a privilege and go out of our way to find caches that have not been found in a long time. This would have been our longest unfound cache to-date if we had been just a week earlier. As I had not updated the GPS in several weeks, we did not realize that it had been recently found until we arrived and saw the log – so I guess it counts that we went not knowing if the cache was active or not and went anyway. We have found most of yankeeboy/pausum’s hides, and even though he is inactive we want to thank him for all the neat hides, they are usually in unusual locations and frequently tough to get to, we love em! We entered from the north via Escalante Creek. It is quite a clime up onto Dry Mesa. We would recommend 4-wheel drive to ease the trip.

Great View after a nice walk.

We give it a thumbs up!

Found this one while out on a 4-wheeler ride with polarisryder42 and mimigirl65. We had been by here earlier this spring but didnt know there was a cache. When I saw there was one we decided to come back and find it. Great day for a ride, not to hot and no rain. Going to take the Bam Bam TB and move him to Black Mesa for awhile. SL TFTC
