From the Cache

To make the connection drive up County Rd. 238., through Slaughter Gulch. The locals have disguised the entrance of this road to discourage muggles but, don't be fooled, it's a BLM access to a great public recreation area. Turn arounds can be tight when muddy but the road is OK for a 2WD and is maintained year round. The hike from the road is steep in places, although, I did see ATV tracks close to the cache so you might try riding up.
The cache is very easy to see when you get to the site, much of the valley is too. This is a log only cache, bring your own pencil and a camera - you'll need both.

Congratulations to 3cacheteers on the FTF!

Been over 2 years since the last find and all is well with the cache. Very clever container. It appears it was found by muggles who signed the log: Kevin and Ethan Rosette Elk Hunting. Glad they enjoyed and that they didn't muggle the container. Rain yesterday made it a little muddy today, not bad. Lone Wolf 77 and I on a western slope geocaching vacation. Thank you for placing this cache so we could enjoy the game. sl

Found it, very nice spot for a cache, all three kids came with me on this one, they enjoyed the hike down much more than the hike up. Thanks,

Great afternoon family hike with 8, 7, 4, and 10 mo boys. It was a great excuse to get out and enjoy Slaughter Gulch. TFTC

YES got to this one today!!! We are moving to Nevada and I could not leave without getting this one. Not found for 2 years and the cache is still in great shape, log looks brand new. Route is pretty direct and not too challenging I hiked up there with my 10 year old, 7 year old and the 2 year old strapped on my back! Great views and VERY rewarding, get up there people! Thanks DARR I love your adventures.

PS - I think you owe me $5 for finding this one. You can put it in Keyser Creek if your up to it, I am going after that one next! ToungeOut

A full day of nice weather and off I go on my own Tour de DARR/Polaski. I thought of that myself but I see by the logs, so did Polaski. A pair of stealth rubber-soled shoes, sturdy pants, headlamp and caching kit and off I go.
On this cache, the deer sure did know the way but they gave me too many options so I chose 2 and made a loop trip of it. Let's see what doesn't belong here? Oh, there's the cache! Awesome. I have high expectations for this day and I'm sure I won't be disappointed. A great start! Thanks.
