The posted coordinates takes you to a location with a field puzzle. Please do not remove the container from its fixed position! You may need TOTT to extricate the contents. Upon solving the field puzzle, I suggest approaching stage 2 by walking clockwise on the obvious path. Continue clockwise from stage 2 to the final stage with a log you can sign. Pop the top of the final rather than removing the entire stage from its fixed position.
Belmarsh is actually a water detention pond in the southeast portion of Belmar. Don't worry, bad ducks aren't sent here for detention! The main difference between a detention and a retention pond is whether or not it has a permanent pool of water. A detention pond is designed as a “dry pond.” Its purpose is to hold back flood waters and slowly release the water so that creeks and rivers do not become flooded.
From here you can see birds, waterfowl and often hear coyotes in the evening. Surrounded by a diverse human population, housing options range from affordable senior living, upscale single family homes, large apartment complexes, as well as an assisted living facility. There are benches and artwork and multiple random birdfeeders in the trees surrounding the pond. Who's filling those birdfeeders, I wonder?! There are bird indentification posters and sculptures. The beauty of this small marshy area changes seasonally and is a remarkable oasis in a densely populated area. Enjoy!
CONGRATS TO TABjuggler for the FTF and for some great suggestions I can use to make this a better cache!
