Off the beaten path near Dead Man's Gulch, which is an unmarked trail in the South St. Vrain Canyon.  About 3.9 miles up from the town of Lyons.  There are deer trails that go up to the N. and E., past an old cabin ruins, and a moonscape.  The cache is easy to find by using the coordinates.  Enjoy the view, which may include Big Horn sheep, or deer, and hardly ever another human.

I wish I'd brought my camera and some water -- I wasn't originally intending to do this cache today, but I struck out earlier on a couple of other caches.

Whew, that's a climb! I couldn't find the trail, just bits and pieces of one here and there, then some deer tracks, so I ended up bushwhacking my way up a steep slope through tough brush. It's a good thing I had jeans and long sleeves on, or I'd have been really torn up. I eventually came out way too high. Lots of dead, slippery cheatgrass made the descent pretty hazardous, but I made it down onto the flat area and found the cache. It's in good shape. I picked up the TB and left a new pathtag of my dog, Suzy. Nice view on a beautiful day.

Since I hadn't turned tracking on and didn't want to go back that way anyway, I followed Suzy back to the car. She found a MUCH easier way back. Too bad she couldn't have led me to the cache in the first place, but she doesn't know how to use a GPS. Apparently neither do I.

Thanks for giving me at least one cache I could find today. :)
