This cache is in a beautiful spot just off the trail between the top of the Incline and Barr Trail.  The view includes Pikes Peak and straight to the south is Camerons Cone.




The last time I did the Incline I took the long way around to head down Barr Trail and found this spot.  It would be a perfect spot for lunch after conquering the now legal Incline.   There is room for small trackables and a couple swag items.  Please rehide it carefully to keep it out of sight.

You can reach the cache from the top of the Incline or from Barr Trail. If you approach it from the top of the Incline take the wide trail on the right that continues to climb.  The flat trail that is straight ahead is a dead end.  See the picture below. If you take Barr Trail up then use the coords below to find the intersection where you need to turn right.

3rd time's the charm.

Atomic Corgi and I wanted to bring Ryan for his first experience on the incline and the weather seemed perfect for it today. This time around, I wanted to push myself to see how fast I'd be able to complete it.

Well we started at quite the pace and stairs have never really been my biggest strength but I was able to maintain that pace pretty much the entire way there. This time around I made it my goal to not stop at any point and I'm proud to say that I stuck to that. Atomic Corgi took off on Ryan and I and made it up in a very fast time, around 31 minutes. We continued up at the same pace and we're very close the entire time to one another.

Ryan ended up finishing about 45 seconds before me and my final time was 42:28, with a total recorded distance of 1.33 miles and an elevation gain of 1,768 feet. Not bad at all! After making it to the top, I had a coughing episode for a little bit, I'm getting over a cold.

After coming back to life, we wandered a little further until we finally made it over to this cache. The search for this one was relatively short and Atomic Corgi was the one who ended up spotting it. We signed it and we're soon on our way back down. Always a great adventure whenever doing the incline, this time was no exception.

Thanks for the fun cache! Today a small group of us ascended the incline to set up a memorial "brunch" banquet for the hikers along the incline. So much fun and very rewarding to see all the smiles and hear the stories of everyone. After setting up Kerewin0430 and I headed to the summit. to grab a few caches up this way. This was our last in the loop at the top. We found it, signed it and replaced it just as found. All is well. Bushwhacked to the trail down below and jogged back to the rest of the group! Nice cache and great views! Thank you!

Climbed the Incline with some good folks today as part of a photo scavenger hunt - we set up a large "banquet" of snacks for hikers at the Bailout! After the fun, RPieperCO and I finished climbing up and grabbed a few caches at the top. What a gorgeous view! Thanks for sharing this spot!

We hiked the incline today and then decided to go a bit further in order to find two caches up here. It felt so good to not be climbing stairs after we got to the top of the incline that the hike to this cache was easy. We tried to take the direct route and found that it's blocked by a pair of locked gates, so we had to take the longer trail around to GZ. The hint was key to a quick find after a very short search. All is good to go with this cache and log.

This is day 1296 of our current daily caching streak. Thanks again for helping us to extend it by another day.

We hiked up Barr Trail to the top of the Incline this morning and grabbed this one on the way. Beautiful view of Camerons Cone! SL. TFTC.
