A needed rest stop on your way up to the top of Blodgett Peak. If you make this cache the worst is over and your 2/3's of the way there.
I thought this would make a nice rest stop. I placed it in such a way that finding it with snow 'should' be possible.

It is located just off the main trail at the top of the hill.

Cache is hidden here (between the top and the bottom) - spoiler picture:

I'm surprised this nalgene is still in tact! Obvious signs of vandalism in the area. That's annoying. Cache is in fine shape. TFTC!

What a nice place for a lunch break. The views are wonderful and the wind really whips over the rock face. Some jerk put graffiti nearby, but otherwise a loverly spot.

FYI: The "trail" just downslope is really lousy; it is poorly routed straight up the hill and is now eroding severely. Footing is sketchy when going downhill, so hopefully an industrious trail crew can put in some stairs in places. I bet the nearby rockslide to the east would make a better route.

Spent the day hiking in the area. Grabbed this one on the way to the peak. Great view from GZ. TFTC

A quick find on the way up to the top, finally. I've been up/down this way three times and haven't made it to the top of Blodgett until today. I got within 100 ft of this one once, from the Southwest, and decided my body couldn't go up anymore and made my way back up, and then down, the next ridge to the Southeast due to the drop off immediately to the East. Little did I know I could have gone 120ft farther uphill to the North and found the trail down. hehe

Set out on one hell of a hike today! I've been wanting to get up Blodgett for so long now! Kerewin0430 was happy to join me on this killer hike! This one was the start of the "terrain" I was expecting. Steep slopes and tough slippery conditions! Scrambling our way up we made it to this one and after a short search had it in hand. Signed the log and replaced as found. Onward and upward!

Set out for a hike with RPieperCO today - had no idea it would be this steep! Wow, what a good workout!! Geez! We went to the top and back down the other side to check out the plane wreck. We both drew blood along the way, but our efforts were rewarded with wild raspberries - SO MANY wild raspberries! Thanks for placing this cache. Definitely earned the 4.5 T that I needed for my fizzy grid (thanks)!!

So nice to get to some level ground after all the uphill. Good views and a nice cache.

Phew! Glad to have made it! Cache is in great condition ... I would have thought tons of people would find it inadvertently (non- cachers), but didn't seem to have too many non- logged signers. Now on over & down to Jacob's Ladder and chance find of Occam's to boot BigSmile BigSmile

I picked this one up during a day hike of MT Blodgett. I've put off coming and trying the nice caches in the area for a long time, so I was happy to finally have the chance to do so today. The temperature was in the 40's, so it was nice not to have the sun beating down on my neck even though I was underdressed for the cooler weather. I had a real fun hike to this spot, enjoyed the hunt and enjoyed the rest. It took me a minute to find the cache; I got a little too "spunky" in the places I selected to start looking. Once I came up empty, I got back to the basics and made the find. Thanks to the CO for excellent site selection, the fun cache and keeping this old one alive; I really appreciate it. TFTC.

Needed a D3 T4.5 to fill in a gap in my D/T grid. Only a few more holes to fill to make it complete. Nice day to hike with my geohounds CJ and Ami who wandered all through the woods, always, it seems, ahead of me. The last 1/4 mile to the cache is steep and covered in granite gravel, wasn't looking forward to the hike down. Needed the spoiler pic to make the find as my GPSr had me high up in the rocks. Spent time at the rest stop to rehydrate and cool down. Magnificent view from up there, including the Waldo Canyon fire burn scar. Now to make my way down without killing myself. Left a pen, my calling card, and a favorite point,TN,SL. Thanks for keeping this active.

Holy cow! Is that the cachemobile down there?! Gonna be a hot one today and this is where I am right now at 1113am! Made my way up from Chinese connection and this cache is worth the Terrain rating! The hillside is recovering nicely, I must say, with grasses, flowers and berries, but no trees sadly. Cannot stay here long as I am heading to the peak! Tftc!

Hiking (hopefully) to the summit of Blodgett Peak to watch the Thunderbirds fly after the USAFA class of 2016 graduates. Hoping to grab a few caches along the way. This cache is in great shape. SL TFTC.
