This Wherigo will take you to 6 vintage neon signs along and near West Colorado Avenue where it crosses into Manitou Springs.
The cartridge can be downloaded HERE. A couple of things to note:
The cartridge should take less than 30 minutes to complete.
All of the stops, except the final, can be done without leaving your car (though please stop in a safe place to answer the questions).
Most of the zone descriptions and questions to answer have both a photo and some text. You may need to scroll to see the text.
When you enter the final zone, finding info including a spoiler photo will pop up. This only appears once so don't click Ok until you have found the cache.
Before the new Highway 24 was built in 1968, Colorado Avenue was the main connection between Colorado City and Manitou Springs. As travelers prepared to head into the mountains via Ute Pass, they could stay overnight or get a meal in one of the businesses in this area aimed at serving the automobile traveler. Many of the original neon signs still exist today. Some still work, some don't, but all of them are historic!
If you are new to Wherigo caches, there is an FAQ page here. To play the Wherigo, you will need a Wherigo-enabled device. There are apps for both iPhone and Android that work well, and some models of Garmin GPSr also support playing Wherigo cartridges.
