Water Pocket near the Cache

This cache is off the beaten track and will be difficult to locate as it is camouflaged. It's is tiny and only contains a small roll of paper for its log. Bring your own pencil!!!
The cache was named after a trail in the area and for a phenomena I observed while placing the cache. On the snow were dark specs which I assumed was dirt or something falling from the trees. On my way back out I noticed my foot prints were covered with these specs, some to the point of being black. On closer inspection I determined the specs were little bugs that resemble fleas. I've been an avid outdoorsman most of my life and have never seen this. Anyone know what it is?
The cache itself is a 1/8 inch diameter by 2 inch long piece of brass pipe with end caps. It has been painted with camouflage. Please no journals for log entries. Keep log entries limited to handle and date. Picture below.

Quite a hike, especially in the rain, but definitely an adventure to find. Thanks!

Quite a hike. Did it in the rain. Great location, I wouldn't say too camouflaged. Worth it. Great country. Log was dry. Cache secured. TFTH

Returned to Button Rock Reservoir this week with Estrek and Cacheman48. We had a great time with some strenuous hiking along the way. The weather cooperated with our adventure and kept us warm and protected.

Down from Loveland caching with estrek and pixelmagic. Pretty nice day with a little overcast and temps in the 40s. Really enjoy hiking in the Button Rock area. TFTC SL

Out caching with Pixel Magic and Cacheman48. It was a chilly day, but we warmed up after hiking a ways. A fantastic day! I pushed myself, and got caches I never would have if it weren't for my compatriots. SL TFTC

Nice location out this way. As the log by bob69d on September 27, 2009 said, the upper part of the tree broke. The cache is just slightly lower and to the right of where the 15 foot photo shows it. Thanks! I enjoyed my hike today.

What a way to begin December (today's my granddaughter's birthday, too--she's a geocacher, but was hundreds of miles away so couldn't enjoy this strenuous hike with me). My puppy Teewinot and I climbed a couple of ranked peaks as a starter, and then worked the caches on the "old" and "new" Sleepy Lion Trails. We reached this one soon before dark, and I had only my sunglasses along, so I knew it would be a long trudge out wearing dark glasses with my headlamp. After spending 15 minutes searching for the cache, with darkness falling swiftly, I finally resorted to decoding and reading the hint. Thank goodness, or this cache may not have been located today. As we ascended to the cache vicinity, we came across recent mountain lion tracks in the snow. It was too cold for fleas, so this one probably was not flea-bitten! I enjoyed your caches today. Thanks!
