Stop in the Visitor Center for more information about the Park.

For 100 years, the National Park Service has preserved America’s special places “for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.” Celebrate its second century with the Find Your Park GeoTour that launched April 2016 and explore these geocaches placed for you by National Park Service Rangers and their partners.

There are markers here honoring those who created the National Parks, and those who serve to preserve and protect both the park and those who visit. Some Park Rangers have given their all while on duty. Ranger Jeff Christiansen died while on backcountry patrol, and you will find a tribute to him and his career here at Rocky Mountain National Park.

For the second stage of this cache, note the years when Jeff was born & died. Born: 19 A B, Died: 200C

Final Stage: N 40 21.8 B  B,   W 105 32.A C 0 (The last digit is a "zero")

Final stage for this cache is OUTSIDE of RMNP's boundaries. The actual cache is a short drive east, towards Estes Park. You will find a micro-cache within easy reach.

Our Colorado vacation continued today with a drive from Grand Lake to Estes Park. Mostly, we were working on the Across the Divide GeoTour. Obtained the necessary info at S1 (deja vu from finding the multi at the visitors center near Grand Lake yesterday), then off to a quick find at the final. TFTC!

Hip hip hooray! Enjoyed the Rocky Mountain visitor center. Got my passport book stamped. Then we found the memorial which is very sad. Lost him at such a young age. Thanks for the cache!
