A beautiful walk along the hogback will take you to this cache.

This is a beautiful hike along the hogback. The trail is well maintained, but passes close to some cliffs,so watch the young ones. Mountain bikes are allowed on the trail - watch out for them going to and from the cache, and while searching. Just a short hop from the trail, and you can stay on rock to avoid any erosion.
Parking is available near the trailhead on the east side of the hogback near where Rooney Road crosses through the roadcut.

Update on 08/28/08: I'm sorry to report that CDOT has decided to close the section of Alameda that goes over the Hogback, and it is now necessary to either walk the road from either side, or pay to take the Dinosaur Ridge shuttle bus.

Time to get the blue smileys on Dinosaur Ridge converted to yellow.
This was the last.
Proved to be quite the search.
And then when you find it, you can not imagine how you missed it on the first five passes.

Although I’ve been to dinosaur ridge a few times, I still have yet to pick up all of the caches I want. I was grateful to have the opportunity to return and continue my “nibble“ strategy to clear the area. Today my goal was to pick up the remaining caches (that I want) on the northern portion of the ridge. Hiking hogbacks is always fun because you have the opportunity to get simultaneous good views on two sides. Despite the low difficulty ratings, all of my finds on the ridge today were hard fought. I was grateful to make the find on this one. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find, TFTC.

This one took a few more minutes to find. I think I climbed up and down the rocks about 4 times before coming from the right direction to spot it. Recognized the container from the other cache I found. Tctc

Lovely day for a hike, haven't been to this area in many years so we decided it was a good time to revisit. It was the perfect workout for our midwest lungs, about a 300' elevation gain altogether & 3 miles. Took a few minutes to find this one, cute container. TFTC
