Backup cache for those that may not be able to find "Wade to my Cache", or just a little extra incentive to cross the river. :D
I found a travel bug that wanted to visit good fishing spots. First place that came to mind was 11 Mile Canyon. I looked at the map and found "Wade to My Cache" and it seemed like a perfect place to put this particular TB. We searched for quite a while with no success of finding this cache. My backup plan was to leave a cache just for this TB. I found a nice hiding spot close to 200 yard South of Wade, and gave my new cache a home.

This one should be pretty easy to find. The hiding spot does look like a cache to the trained eye. There are not quite as many hiding spots near GZ, so should narrow down the search time.

One note is that my GPS was reporting a 20ft accuracy, so GZ may be off a little bit. I approached it from 3 different angles, and the coords are an average of the 3, so I am hoping that it will be pretty accurate for most GPS systems.

Left a Geocaching patch as a prize for the first-to-find.

Congrats to Trail717 for the FTF!!!

I left a replacement container at the midpoint of the large tree, in a safe spot where runoff won't wash it away.
With encouragement from GraniteGrabber who stayed at the parking spot, I waded across the river today hoping to find the nearby "The Wade To My Cache" (GC1GD57) and this one.
I found The Wade after about 15 minutes.
Unfortunately, I could not find Stone's Cachebox, even though having looked at the pictures, I knew what the container looked like.
I was all over GZ, using the hint that said "tree"; once I was getting close, it was obvious just which tree to investigate. I looked in, on, under, over, around -- you name it. The GPS was pretty steady, not jumpy, so I knew I was at the correct spot. After about 20 minutes, I came to the conclusion that it is possible a critter got it -- I don't see any log entries that say anyone left a power bar or gum or anything like that, but if anyone ever does, the wildlife carries the container away. I found several good hiding spots, but no container. Moved a ton of downed branches, bark, sticks and twigs but still nothing.
Anyway, I had my geo-bag of supplies with me, and left a replacement container, logsheet in a small ziploc, one piece of swag (a plastic maze with the steel ball in it) and a new trackable of ours -- The Thing (TB9287E).
I have reached out to the cache owner via the geocaching.com Message Center and will wait a bit to see if I get a reply, but he hasn't logged in to his account since March of 2015. Considering the unique challenge of getting to this one, I felt a replacement was a good idea.

Crossing the river was fun. We had a tube and shuttled the kids across. Then began the walk up through a field of prickly plants and scratchy grasses...not so nice to the feet and legs. It'd be more pleasant in the winter, before the field comes to life (or with boots and long pants).

The journey aside, we found Lizzy the TB inside! It is our first TB and we're already planning on her next stop...she likes water.

This one took us a bit to find but my brother finally found it. This was also my 500th cache. TFTC
