This Elkhead Reservoir State Park geocache is on the Sand Rocks trail, which can be accessed from the Boat Ramp parking lot (Greenwood Cove is currently closed). Sand Rocks trail is 2.9 miles long with just 100 feet of elevation gain. The trail includes great views of Black Mountain, Bear's Ears, and Elkhead Reservoir. A park pass can be purchased at the entrance. All pets must be on a leash.

The geocache can be found approximately 1.2 miles from the trailhead. It is located near a sit spot (park bench), behind the juniper tree.
