Scenic view  Available during winter  Dangerous Animals  Thorns  Medium hike (1km-10km)

Another great view overlooking Oil Well Flats.

First part of the hike is rather easy than you will have to climb a hill with rock and cactus. Besure to where the good shoes.

Once you find the cache besure to get the number off the lid as you will need it for another cache.

Becareful when replacing this cache back in its hiding spot.

Super fun cache!

Spent the day hiking, getting multi stages, and exploring with Gwen;) and Tristan. Cool container. Got the code. Sweet views from up here. Found a massive rock covered in fossilized shells nearby, including some unicorn horn looking ones. All I could find out online was Turritella communis or common tower shell, a species of medium-sized sea snails with an operculum, little lid.

It was a perfect morning for a moderately strenuous hike--cloudy and cool, but there were a few sprinkles of rain. I was afraid it would be muddy after last night's rain, but it was just a bit damp. I made it to the parking area in 2-wheel drive. I took the wrong approach and made the terrain more difficult than necessary. There should have been a clear signal up there, but my GPS just couldn't settle on a single spot. I spent a long time searching the wrong side before finally circling around to the correct side. I poked into a few rodent nests, and when I saw the container I momentarily freaked out. Then I laughed out loud. Very clever! I added a 1940 wheat straw penny and some Get Out of Hell Free cards. I took the easier (but slightly longer) route back to the parking area. I had to get back to town for an appointment so I'll be back to finish the series. Thanks for the awesome hide near a trail trail that I have never been on and might never have known about.

What a nice view! I took the trail in and the old road out, both are very pleasant hikes. TFTC. TNSL
