I don't know why this is called Oil Well Flats. There's nothing flat out here. At some point I am going to be too old to be doing these kinds of caches. After getting down from this one I felt like I may be getting close to that point. I went up and down the road trying to see a good route up. Then I read the previous logs to get a hint. Finally I just started from 450 feet away and bushwhacked all the way to the top. I let Bandit off the leash and he found his own way up. I looked in the right place initially but didn't see the well-hidden container, then spent 45 minutes looking in every other possible spot within 25 feet. Finally came back to where I started and found it. Boy, did I feel dumb! I signed the log & got the code. I grabbed Luigi to keep him from spending the winter up here and left some Get Out of Hell Free cards and a 1941 penny. I did some butt sliding on the way down. I was going to go over and try to get Seeps Springs Draw but I was tired and Bandit had drank all my water. That one will have to wait till another day. Thanks for the fun (and exhausting) cache!

Whew! That was a huff and a puff to get here, and then an interesting hunt. What a great view! Your caches are always fun, thanks for placing them. TNSL

After grabbing Skully we headed over to this one. I was showing a little over 400 ft. but I already knew where this one was going to be. I put my GPS in my pocket and followed Olive up the hill. She's great at navigating though all the trees. WE were almost to the top so I pulled the GPS out of my pocket and it was showing 27 ft straight ahead. I walked right up to it and spotted it nicely tucked away. Stamped the log and grabbed the code. This code was for the first set of numbers for the final. Olive started down the hill and I followed right behind her. We got in the truck and headed for Seep Springs. I said HELLO to Luigi before we started down. [8d][8d] SL TFTC TNLN

Another twisty path. Took awhile to figure out an approach that I had enough nerve to accomplish. Beautiful view, worth the trip. Made sure I got the numbers so I didn't have to go back like Skully. Tftc.
