Park at the Dominguez - Escalante trailhead. It's a 6.5 mile round trip walk through beautiful country. You'll have to leave the established trail where the Little Dominguez forks off the Big Dominguez. Please excuse the "log" - I used what I had. Bring your own pen.

Congratulations to Pauleefox and Rojo464 on FTF

Took three laps around overgrown gz before I realized I was at the arch. Very interesting find, pretty cool but no luck finding cache.

Out with a youth group teaching them how to "backpack" and "primitive camping". Have been wanting to mark off the 6 caches in this area for some time and decided to also show the kids about geocaching. Grabbed "Bridge" on the way in but left "Dominquez Camp" for the way out. DNFed "Little Dominquez Arch" but did find "Searching for the Big Horn" as well as finding THE Big Horn, a herd of 11 came up to within 200' of the kids near camp, they got very quiet and watched the herd off and on for over an hour, got some good picts also. The ram had a HUGE rack on him! Quite an experience for the kids. Ultimately did not go for the two upper caches as the kids were to worn out to hike that far so also left Dominquez Camp alone as incentive to self for an easy cache to get and go for the others at the same time now that it is cooler in the canyons.

Had all the kids searching for this one but they really did not know what or where to look for. They turned GZ over in search of the cache and am afraid they may have "buried" it in the process. After they all left (with the other adults) I spent another 10 minutes searching and could not lay eyes on it but being a D3.5 am not totally surprised. Will be going back out with the Ms. in a few weeks to grab the other 2 upper caches, will contact the CO in mean time and check on this one again. TFTsearch, NEAT looking old . . . . . . (hide)
