What is a permaculture garden? A permaculture garden is not only esthetically pleasing, but also one that provides edible fruits, vegetables, and herbs with a low maintenance system. Permaculture mimics nature by using a combination of canopy trees, lower fruit trees, nitrogen fixing trees, and perennial food producing plants to create a Forest Garden. Like a real forest, this is a garden that takes care of itself by providing mulch from leaf drop and mulch plants, insect repelling plants, plants to attract beneficial insects, and grass suppressing groundcover plants. In addition, native wildflowers and prairie grasses are integrated into the garden for low maintenance, insectaries, and drought tolerance. The garden is not yet complete, but a really nice playground for the kids is finished. Parking is available at N38* 49.089' W104* 44.222'. Even with all this rain the fields have not fully recovered from the drought, so please stay on the paved trails until within 12 feet of the cache.

In order to find the actual cache, you will need to find 2 Travel Bugs. You will need either N38 49.aaa http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=502672 or N38 49.bbb http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=487528 and W104 44.ccc http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=492202 or W104 44.ddd http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=481268 The aaa and bbb have the last three digits of the NORTH coordinates on them and ccc and ddd have the last three digits of the WEST coordinates on them. When you find one of these bugs you can either leave it where you found it or move it to another cache but please do NOT take it out of the Colorado Springs area. Thanks and enjoy the hunt.

W104 44.ccc and ddd have left the Springs, until I can replace them the West cood is 104 44.337.

Hi- lots of people mention ammo box, quick find, and spiders. With all the current cache page info I found an excellent but empty hiding spot that fits criteria. I used the given west coord and walked NS to find the area I searched.

Out and about in the wee hours of the morning in Colorado Springs, CO getting in some steps while searching for a hide that has been on my radar far too long. Had not made an attempt to find the TB , but thought I would give this one a try. Parked at the suggested location, visited the abandoned permaculture garden and then continued on for the find. SUCCESS! All is as it should be and in great shape. Cute logbook and lots of swag. No snakes and no spiders. SL. TNLN. Hid better than found. Thank you, Cosmoasu, for the garden information as well as the fun!

Clearing my GPS and catching up on logs. This cache took a while just to find the missing travel bugs. The coordinates were right on and the cache is dry and in great condition. Thanks for the fun challenge.

TFTC!! I've had the final for some time. I just don't make it down this way very often. Today I was in the are and figured I would get this one off the list. Quick find. Great hiding place! I also love coming across ammo boxes in the urban environment. Too bad the kiddos weren't with me today. They would have loved to swap out goodies. Thanks for placing this cache for us all to find and the great info that went along with it.
