Back in the late 80s and early 90s, this place used to make micro chips for computer products.  In the mid 90's the company consolidated two manufacturing plants to one which was up in Colorado Springs.  Then about 2 years later, the company moved all the microchip processing to China.  Since then, this location has been more or less vacant.  This is a great grab and go for those on I-25.

A lot of caches in Fountain are disappearing due to construction.  I wanted to put some out there to attract folks to Fountain and put them in locations that I know aren’t going to fall to a bulldozer.  I hope you enjoy your trip.  I will be adding more down the road in this area, so keep checking back.

After Apple left, this building was bought as a 2nd location for SCI, a sub-contractor printed circuit board manufacturing facility. Later, another company, Sanmina, merged with SCI to become Sanmina-SCI which operated here all the way to 2008 when it finally closed.
I worked here, so had to come get this cache for nostalgia! Thanks
