Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home was chartered in 1952 and remains the only full service cemetery in El Paso County today! This cemetery was formerly Colorado Spirit Quest #104, which was archived in 2012. This should be a quick and easy multicache.

"We maintain 11 ground burial gardens offering multiple options, including two gardens designed specifically for traditional upright monuments. In 1962, we added our main mausoleum which also houses our funeral home and cemetery offices. The cemetery also boasts two additional mausoleums, each with unique characteristics and features. All three mausoleums have multiple cremation placement options. Combined Memorial Gardens has over 20 distinctive burial options to meet every families need for their loved one's final resting place."

!!! The Exciting Cache Series !!!

“COLORADO SPIRIT QUEST”

REMEMBER:

If you are APPREHENSIVE about cemeteries – AVOID this series.

The Colorado Spirit Quest is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

If you are interested in being a part of this project, contact may be made by sending an e-mail to the owner of “Colorado Spirit Quest #1 – Mountain Passage”.  Use the "Send Message" link at the center of the page of their profile.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural and mountain communities across Colorado.  This series will introduce you to many of them.

The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries and tombstones.

The CSQ endeavor is an enormous and relentless task and will only flourish if there is a multitude of volunteer cachers  willing to place these caches.

After locating the cache container, take some time to reflect back on the lives of those pioneers and the effort it took to make Colorado such a great state.

Each person that places a CSQ cache is responsible for its maintenance.

Thanks to the volunteers: Greasepot, Taylorgeotracker, Ivy Dog Parents, Team Boogity3, Grand High Pobah, Boborr 80909, Imusttravel2000, Buzz Lightyear I, Sandhill 49er, MrVolkswagen, Isisfan, Rockymtn8iv, Fork-L-Man, Outdrlvr201, Condor1, 2Cachedivers, arthurat, smilz787, Kyotmoon, Mountain Roamer, SugarPug, Team Tiger Pride, ernie66, drnetwork, Team w-bar-v, Dynamite Rabbit, DustyKat, mtnbirders, RustyBeerCan & Marma, grymreaper, nteclpr, Moose1 & Mama Moose, Joe Friday, 3cacheteers, 3cacheteers, Dasha Aussies, KB0UMW, hiking_fool, tripping, res71cue, 1Mrs1Ogre, nickgatt, kingbee, The misgnoners, rbradu, shashyaz&foxy, Bugranger, Lyonden ut., Any Direction, Sewnssew, The Meandering Monkeys, Charlie-n-Geri, skibum1, gooftroop 4, stubywwjd, MaDDoGGaming, Wolverine, Random Acts, lbmiller, BTBugs, God chaser, imcasey, lesslost2, Back Country Horseman, vorticity, Triggur, Eagle 2, imyy4u2, MikeAndJuli, 9-rushman&famgirl79, TheBrecks, and animjason.

New VOLUNTEERS Are Always Welcome

There are five steps to this multicache, including the final. It should be easy, and give you a nice tour of these beautiful and sacred grounds. Please be respectful while doing this cache, thanks! The posted coordinates are at one of the three mausoleums here. There are three other waypoints you will need to visit and they can be done in any order. Let's begin!

The FINAL cache will be located at N38 49.ABC W104 45.DEF

At the posted coordinates: To your right, there are two larger plaques on the wall. You want to use the lower one with the dedication information. This was dedicated to commemorate the ____ anniversary of the United States Air Force. Divide this anniversary by 10 and this will equal E.
There is another plaque titled 'Old Glory'. You can read this great poem if you'd like and reflect on our military branches, and all that they have sacrificed. Below the symbols of the five branches of our military, how many pine cones are on the plaque? This will equal H.

At the Garden of the Good Shepherd Waypoint: How many animals are with Jesus in this sculpture? This will equal G. How many of them are on HIS left? This will equal C.

At the Garden of the Redeemer Waypoint: There is a scripture on this plaque. If it is from Matthew, let D equal 1. If it is from John, let D equal 2. If it is from Mark, let D equal 0. How many four letter words are in the quote? Add 1 and this will equal F.

At the Garden of the Last Supper Waypoint: How many pitchers are there? (Hint: count the number of empty plates, and the number of plates that have food. They should all be the same number). This will equal A. How many cups are there? Minus three from this number to get I. Now go behind this sculpture. How many people are on this side? This will equal B.

But wait? I have extras! What are G, H and I for? Look at the hint for your answer.
I hope you enjoyed this cache!

Too wet to write on. Cache was full of water but we found it!

What a cool multi! I enjoyed the quiet walk on a cool June morning before I headed to work. I don’t think I have ever explored have a cemetery to this extent. Usually you want in and out pretty quickly. I was in need of a daily cash and figured I could be in the cemetery relatively undisturbed just search. Need areas and interesting gravestones. And beautiful views of the Peak! I wish I would have read through the description in its entire ready before I got out on foot to search. But it is relatively easy to find all of the stages and even backtrack if you need (to like me). The final is in good shape but the log is soaked. It needs to be replaced. I’m sorry I didn’t have the ability to replace it myself. Thanks for the very interesting and beautiful cache.

I drove around and gathered all the clues, then made my way to the final. Unfortunately, it was very wet inside. Most of the signatures have faded to a light haze but I added mine using a Sharpie so maybe it will last a little longer... TFTC!

We love cemetery caches and had to finish this multi while visiting from KC. A bit waterlogged and tried to dry everything as best we could. Tftc! ~the Britts

I was up early and out running down some challenge and puzzle caches, and had finished up my list of nearby caches, and wasn't really ready to drive much further. It was still earlier than I thought my son would be up and awake, and I saw this cache nearby and went for it. The information was all readily found (though the pitchers on the table was tricky, so thanks for the hint). Very nicely done, and the final was found easily and unlocked. Thanks for the cache.

I enjoyed this multi, and it was even more special doing on Memorial Day weekend. While I was at yhe final, a procession of bikers rode through and stopped at the posted coords to honor the veterans. It was really nice.
Found the final with no problem, but had trouble with the combo...I had miscounted 1 digit, but got it figured out. Also left my pen in the car, but scratched my name with my key. :) TFTC

I have been "dying" to do this multi since I came out here to visit and help my daughter. Nice stroll around the graveyard on Mother’s Day. Great multi/puzzle. TFTC
