Beautiful remote location with some amazing views that requires some route finding skills
Scout's Secret Stash has a mountaineering theme and requires some mountaineering skill at least in terms of route finding if you want to easily make it to this cache. It is located in a beautiful and remote area. The hike in offers some amazing vistas of the city and Blodgett peak.

You do not need to move any rocks, limbs or vegetation to find the cache but it is well camouflaged. The cache is winter friendly. I hiked up just after a recent storm and found a place that should be good except in a big dump of snow.

Carefully consider your route on a topo map before starting out. Sure you can make it there by following a straight line course but this will most likely result in a very difficult and/or tedious climb. I am not going to recommend a trail-head for this cache since the point (and challenge) is planning your own route and making your way to the cache The cache is accessible via a number of trail heads from practically every direction. I'd strongly recommend taking hiking poles.

In keeping with the mountaineering theme, I have stocked the cache with some hiking, mountaineering and survival items, including an emergency stove with hexane fuel tablets, magnesium fire starter, flashlight with batteries (a good one from my caving days). a globe paper weight and a carabiner.

The coordinates of the cache should be accurate to 9 feet (verified by independent averaging with a both a Garmin 60csx and Delorme PN-40).

Have fun. I think you'll really enjoy finding your way to this cache. It's one of my favorite areas and I almost never see anyone in this area.
Congrats on the FTF to hartsdale!:Not only was he the first to find the cache but he did this the day after a pretty big snow storm. Very Impressive!

Well when I got to the nice lookout spot I didn’t think I was going to do anymore because that’s pretty darn tired but this one was only 500 feet away so of course I had to go for it. Thanks for the awesome work out and bringing me up here. Might have to make it a favorite just for the container in the fact that I got an awesome workout . Tftc

I managed to pick this cache up during another hike around the Blodgett area. After a couple of hikes here, I'm happy to have decoded the trail network and can finally move around efficiently. I managed to make the find on this one with no drama, and I'm very happy about that. Since the GZ was so nice and open, I stopped here for a short break and a bit to eat. Despite the clear skies, the wind was kicking up so I had to snivel up a bit. Thanks to the CO for the nice hike and placing this cache for everyone to find, TFTC.

Made quick time over from Nice Spot 2.5! Well done cache! Cleaned out the natural debris that worked it's way in. Rehid in originally intended hiding spot. I wonder if that glownstick still works? Tftc Wolfgang!
