Stunning views up above the tree-line on the western slopes of Pike's Peak. A round-trip hike of about 2.5 miles from the Devil's Playground parking area. Come prepared- the weather can change very fast (as it did for us when we were placing the cache)! Smile

I managed to pick this one up on the inbound leg of what I’ll call overnight Sentinel Loop+, taking the free / hard way. I’ve never been here before, so I appreciate the nice caches along the route to serve as my motivation. I came at this one straight from GC1HDC9 JEEPS Are Us…bypassing the puzzle at GC2MDK8 Lost Signal (grits teeth while typing). I had to take a short detour to avoid the snow field. I was really surprised when I jumped up here and my knees didn’t even complain! In hindsight, I should have stayed here and looked at GC2M74H One-Mile Pinnacle more and thought about my route more deeply. The container and log are still in great shape. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find, TFTC.

What an epic caching weekend! Covered a lot of ground! Today was all about Pikes Peak. Started bright and early with a hike along this ridge from Devil's Playground. Weather was iffy on the way out, but cleared up pretty quickly. Thanks for placing this easy to find cache after all the other rock turning and miles we had already put in over the past few days!

After finding my target cache this morning, I mosied over to this one.

I was near here a while ago, but made the choice to grab the higer one nearby. ( because of time or weather or both )

Anyway it was kind of a cool down hike wich I needed.

Thanks for a nice sized container to hunt for!

Thanks! are due and due again to several CO's for another excellent outing on the peak. I stayed mostly at a 'drove-to' altitude. Saw a ton of tiny tundra plants in real nice bloom; listened to the resident birds and rodents all day; hardly heard a man made noise the whole time; and then had to make one scootin' hike back to parking to get layers and rain gear on.
But UH OH! I'm on a motorcycle !!! Well anyway I got below tree line before all the lightning really cranked up!

What a pleasant stroll across the lawn from the pinnacle. I looked at this one on the gpsr screen up there and then put it away. Only one spot for it !! Smile

Making my way back from Sentinel Point cache which was the focus of today's trek out here. Went far and now sweeping up caches on the way back before the rain starts, but where the thunder has already been rolling overhead and all around. Great place for a cache, which looks great where it is and probably won't be visited again for a while all things considered with the caches up here. May have to leave a TB or 2 at the bike shop again!! :)

Found with JavaChip. Still a little bit of snow around the cache location but I'm sure it will be gone by next week. TFTC!
