Wow. So many things to say. My buddy invited me on this hut trip since I was coming out from PA to snowboard, so we borrowed enough gear to make it happen, and safely, too- the group gave me crash course in avalanche gear, glad we never needed it. First time I've gotten to do true backcountry riding, let alone with a splitboard. Or that many miles at this high an elevation. Haha my nickname was Sea Level cuz of my lack of acclimation xD I had to stop to breathe every 100' it seemed. But oh man, the turns we got, after 8 fresh inches of snow overnight. Epic. And then I got to revive a long-unfound cache, too! Winning!

The toughest part is extracting the folded log sheet out of the narrow necked container. Deft smaller fingers needed. Rehung it within arms reach off bare ground. Road up is no problem in a proper 4x4, though a slow go. Beautiful views up here. TFTC.

First FTF. Looked for 45 min and was about to leave when a lady who didn't know what geocaching was saw it. In the summer it's about 9' off ground!
Highly recommend high clearance vehicle. I'm guessing $800 worth of damage to our SUV.

Wanted desperately to be first to find, but it's not to be. No road names...only numbers so we drove all the way down to Piney Lake Ranch....the good news is we have a new place to come to camp next year! Saw a bull moose. Went back the way we came and took 786 until there was 1.4 miles left. Really needed a high clearance vehicle as my undercarriage got all banged up. Pouring rain so turned around. Was this the right direction?
