Congrats to the brave Captains Dud&Plato and BriaTeragram for being the FTF of Barstow’s Legendary Trove! You be the fiercest Captains sailing the seven seas!

Arrrr Pirate! Ye be seeking the treasure trove of Captain Barstow himself! Well, if ye have any chance o’ findin this cache there might be a few things I better tell ye.

1. This be a very difficult cache, matey, as said above.

Be prepared for anything! Bring lots o’ water, and maybe even stop for some grub if needed! Don’t want to be caught unready, aye?

2. This cache ain’t at the posted coords.

The riddles and puzzles be so hard on this one, I made sure only the right pirates could have a chance to find it! Barstow left a riddle to find the cache and its puzzles, but I added something more. If ye want a chance to nab the smiley, start off by solving my puzzle! I be placing Barstow’s first riddle somewhere hidden on this page. If ye can find it, and solve it mabye you have a chance of grabbing the loot. I’ll just be saying this, the location of the gold be near the posted coords. Arrrrrrr!

3. Expect field puzzles!

Barstow wasn’t any lame old fool. No, he was smarter than that! The chest be having a lock on it, and by passing Barstows test you will find the combo. To open the chest of the legend himself, ye and your crew will have to pass riddles, locks, and even traps! (Maybe not that last one. But like I say before, be ready for anything!) Ye be taken to three locations in Niwot, and at each Barstow be hidden a clue card with part o’ the combo.

4. Time will be needed.

Barstow’s riddles and river blocks aren’t as quick and easy as ye might be thinkin. Don’t take this one on without a few hours o’ time. And don’t even think about startin if ye have no idea how to even find the trove!

5. This place be teeming with muggles!

Take caution not to reveal the secret of Barstow’s hidden chest, lest his curse come upon you! Be friendly and make sure they have no reason to mess with the cache.

6. Barstow left some helpful firetacks.

If ye be having trouble finding this cache or it’s clues try in the dark. At locations you think the cache or clue many be let your light shine! Firetacks will lead your way! Even one of the riddles mentions the use of a flashlight!

7. Be sure to have the right tools!

Pirates always have the tools of the trade! Bring the following for the best chance o’ finding the cache:

A Map

Always a useful tool for pirate! Riddles mention locations i. This o’ Niwot! Maps can help ye find your way, and solve puzzles!(Though mabye a local would be just as useful.)[Click Picture for Map]

A Friend

A fresh eye at the weel can be always useful. (Though you might have trouble figuring how to split the loot. Just remember, they are the first mate and you be the captain, so...)

A good pair of shoes

All clues are in walking distance, so wear something comfortable for the trip!

A Phone

You can look up things, and use a map.

Arrrrr, matey! It be up to you now! Solve my puzzle, gather your crew, and set sail for adventure! Make a whole day out of it! Grab a bite to eat at the local shops! And most importantly, have a grand time of it! See you on the seas!

Great cache, lots of fun. Couldn't find the second trove but was still able to solve the lock with the other two clues. Took the travel bug and will be taking it back home to Sweden with me to move along :)

Found riddles 1 & 3. Had no luck with riddle 2. Used our ingenuity to open the lock using 2 of the 3 numbers. That space was too narrow for me to enter from the street. Nearby shop owners seemed disturbed by our extended presence. To the CO: It might be a good idea to let them know what is happening.

Well THAT was interesting! Cleverly done.

Struck out at Riddle #2 where we spent a good 30 minutes scratching our heads in what we were sure was the correct location, but managed to come up with the numbers from #1 and #3. That was enough for us to deal with the container. Only took 6 tries (it's a long story that dates back to Junior High) and we were good. However, CO may want to check the location for Riddle #2 to confirm whether there's really something still there. If there is, drop us a line and tell us what we missed!

Given the tight situation on the ground at the primary waypoint, we chose the 'optional' entry method, but got the hairy eyeball from the locals who run the operation to the 'left'. So to future finders: If you can't enter as the CO anticipated, exercise care when choosing the optional approach.

Dud&Plato pointed this puzzling multicache out to me since puzzles are my favorite. We spent some time pouring over google maps, doing some street views and researching online to try and figure out where the first stage might be since we didn't know for sure how long this multi would take. Once we finally got the start narrowed down we took the drive. I had fun walking around this quiet town and exploring the sights it had to offer. Had some trouble with one of the stages but managed to figure out the solution in the end. There was enough room in the cache for the TB I had with me, so I dropped it off. I'm happy to add another FTF to my list. TFTC|SL

My friend my friend Papaya101!
Oh what an adventure, oh man the fun.
Our first map lead us astray,
And for a moment there was dismay...

Until a better angle, I did get...
and well I tell you it WAS a tight fit!
at first with excitement only the paper we saw
and paid no mind to the horde or the law!

Off we did go, with clues so grand...
oh yes we did come up with a plan
We sat down for a snack and to ponder it out
A quick lunch with fries and one quick stout

Slightly thrown by the troublesome seas
We managed to look in the wrong series of 'trees'
But soon as we set proper sail
A number came to us later, so we need not fail..

Off we set once again
to seek out a more watery friend
I cast my net to the water nearby
but not a single fish did there lie

Instead, other angles make it look right
And we could see if you were lost you could find it by night
One more location could puzzle us yet
Would we soon find a treasure? I sure know my bet...

So I raised my flag and set out to sea
If I could find one more port awaiting me
Soon the light lead the way
I praised heaven right there that day!

For the clues we bested, and the challenge met
But one more challenge awaited yet
Back we went to seek the prize!
There we saw it with our own eyes...

We took a seat and spun around
Could this be a moment it all goes down?
This treasure awaited a Captain, that's for sure
It needs a finder, it needed a cure!

With a clank and a pop, it opened wide
I tell you, friends, I have not lied.
For awaiting there the treasure be
The best treasure a blank log I did see.

We came we sailed, we bested the clues!
We have come to claim our FTF dues.
Nothing more than one thing last...
It's a pleasure to say: THANKS FOR THE CACHE!

Our apologies for adding that confusing FTF part before posting the cache. No, it has not yet been found to my knowledge.
